Lying next to Maddy, I am awakened by her pressed against me. I hear her whisper something in her sleep.
"I love you too Jasper. I always have." the hushed whisper comes out in a breathy tone.
She leans up and kisses me softly. This ignites something inside of me. Something I can't contain anymore. I am done standing on the sidelines and watching Maddy from afar. Never close enough for me to actually touch, always 'off limits'. I know she has feelings for me too, and those words confirmed it for me.
Maddy is my best friend, and I don't want anything to come between our friendship, but there is something more here, obviously NEITHER of us is able to deny that anymore.
