Amelia flutters her eyes open slowly as a result of the beeping noise coming from her alarm. She groans in frustration and tosses her pillow towards the direction of the alarm. She succeeds in knocking the alarm off the bedside table but thankfully for her the alarm does not shatter into pieces, it only stops making beeping noise.
"Yes." Amelia mumbles to herself smiling enthusiastically. She clutches her bed sheet tights and shuts her eyes close. Her phone suddenly beeps out loud startling her. She jerks off her bed as the memory of last night slowly replays in her head, how someone had been trailing her on her way back from work. This had never happened to her before. She had received a few threat messages from Goran and his boys but they had never gone as far as showing their presence.
Amelia knows that if they can go as far as trailing her from work then they can do anything. "I must get their money back at all means." She mumbles to herself. Amelia runs a hand through her hair and releases a loud yawn. She makes her way towards the bathroom for a quick shower. Amelia dressed into a yellow dress and makes her way out of the apartment not after having a simple breakfast of cereal. Amelia steps outside of the apartment with her bag clutched tight in her hand, she glares around and realizes how busy the neighborhood is. Goran and his boys could never attack her at broad daylight especially because of how busy it usually is.
"Then I must try to leave work early from now on. Or at least leave work with some of my colleagues." Amelia mumbles to herself. She locks her front door and dumps the key into her bag this time in order to avoid Goran and his boys breaking into her apartment and destroying all the furnitures she has, they would not bother trying to steal it because they know it does not worth a single penny. Amelia's furnitures are all old and rusted, no one would buy that from Goran and his boys if they did steal it so it would be better to destroy it instead.
Amelia sighs heavily. She boards a taxi to the hospital and arrives earlier than she had expected. Well that is practically because the driver would not stop speeding like he was in a hurry to just drop her at the hospital and go somewhere else. As long as it was in her favour, Amelia dared not to complain. She pays the taxi driver and makes her way into the hospital. Amelia is greeted by a few colleagues with smiles on their faces which leaves her no choice but to force a smile on her face even though today is not exactly a good day for her, Goran and his boys refuse to leave her mind.
Amelia recalls the young man that was rushed into the hospital last night, she makes her towards the room he was admitted and freezes in her steps when she catches him on a phone call.
Everything happened in a haste last night so she could barely gaze too much at his face but now Amelia could not help but admire his handsome features, his dark hair that falls across his face, his hazel eyes twinkling and a dimpled smile on his face. Amelia notices a cross tattoo on his chest. Her eyes dart towards his huge biceps and she notices another tattoo of a gun on his arm. Amelia scrunches her brows in confusion at his bad boy demeanor.
"Doctor, you can come in." The young man's hoarse and rough voice startles Amelia. She clears her throat and a smile appears on her face as she slowly makes her way into the room. She catches the young man checking her out but Amelia decides to brush it off as it is nothing new to her. Her curvy shape always leaves all the men staring at her.
"Good morning. How are you feeling this morning?" Amelia asks with a smile still plastered on her face.
The young man smirks and slowly sits upright, he winks at her and says "I am okay doctor and that is all thanks to you."
"Actually, you should thank the female paramedic. She saved your life, you should be grateful to her." Amelia says recalling how efficient the female paramedic was last night.
"Well, your face got stuck in my memory doctor. I only remember you saving my life so I think I only owe you my appreciation." The young man says with a smirk still plastered on his face, a cocky smirk.
"My face got stuck in your memory? And why is that?" Amelia asks pretending to be shocked by that. The young man shrugs in response, he clears his throat and says "Well, I can not pinpoint why exactly but I could not stop thinking about you last night, you were amazing."
Amelia's heart races at his compliment, she clenches her fist tight and hastily gets a grip of herself. "Really? I thought you were unconscious last night? How then did you know I was amazing?" She asks.
"Nah, I was just pretending to be. I was awake while you were stitching me up but yes I did pass out at first which is why I do not remember the female paramedic." The young man replies. Amelia chokes out a small laughter and shakes her head at him.
"My goodness, you watched me stitch you up? Did it not hurt? Not even for the slightest second?" Amelia asks.
"What can I say? I am iron man." The young man says causing Amelia to burst into laughter at his joke. He joins her in laughing and eventually the both of them sober up.
"You are hilarious Mr iron man." Amelia comments.
"What is your name doctor? I am just curious." The young man says.
"Doctor Amelia Roussel." Amelia replies with a smile on her face. She pauses to clear her throat and ask "What about you?"
"Vladislav Dukhovich." The young man deadpans.
