coldest tone

For the past few days that Vladislav spent in the hospital, Amelia has always kept him company during her free time. None of Vladislav's family visited for once and Amelia could not help but wonder why. A young lady did visit him once but that turned only turned out to be one of his friends. Amelia got to later find out that the young lady was also his consigliere which only meant one thing, even after five years had passed, Vladislav is still a mafia boss. Today is Saturday and Vladislav will be leaving the hospital. He invited Amelia to a fancy restaurant, he wanted to express his gratitude to her before leaving the hospital and Amelia gladly accepted because she wanted to get closer to Vladislav by all means. Amelia stares at herself in the broken mirror, she strikes a few poses in front of the mirror and pouts. Amelia winks at the mirror and spins in her white off-shoulder floral dress that surpasses her knees. Amelia grabs her purse and slowly catwalks out of her house. She shuts the door behind her and is about to lock the door when her ringing tone blares out loud. Amelia sighs, she fetches her phone out of her purse and glares at the caller ID. It is a call from an unknown number, Amelia feels reluctant because she assumes that it might be Goran playing tricks on her but at the same time Amelia knows how dangerous it would be to keep ignoring him. She picks the phone call and presses it close to her ears. "Amelia Roussel. I did not expect you to pick my call." Goran's loud voice blares through the speaker. Amelia's palms become sweaty and her heart skips a bit. "Goran, pleasure to hear from you again. How have you been?" Amelia feigns confidence. She clears her throat and braces herself for what Goran is about say or what warning he is about to give. "I have been good Amelia Roussel. It looks like you have been doing pretty well too." Goran says with a light chuckle. Amelia scrunches her brows in confusion. Her eyes roam around searching for any sight of Goran and his boys but she does not catch a single glimpse of them. "What do you mean by that?" Amelia asks, her heart races fast in fear but she tries to reassure herself by reminding herself that Goran and his boys would never pull a stunt, at least not in broad daylight or in front of a bunch of people. Even if they tried, they probably would not get away with it. "You look really stunning in your dress Amelia. Are you going on a date? With who darling?" Goran whispers in the coldest tone ever. Amelia gulps a lump down her throat. She clenches her fist tight and whispers softly over the phone "What do you want from me Goran? Your money? You will get it." Goran laughs hysterically "When Amelia? You have been telling me that ever since you moved to Italy. Give me a specific date, when and what time do you plan to return my money?" Goran yells over the phone. Amelia pulls the phone away from her ear and places her hand on her chest to release a heavy sigh. "My goodness, Goran, my ears could have gone deaf!" Amelia yells at him. She runs a hand through her hair and groans in frustration. "Did you just yell at me Amelia Roussel? Did you just seriously yell at me?" Goran yells over the phone. He cusses under his breath and hangs up. Amelia's heart races fast in fear and she suddenly regrets ever letting her anger get the best of her. Amelia knows that Goran will have his revenge on her because she yelled at him. She tosses her keys into her purse and walks away from her apartment. Amelia boards a cab to the restaurant. She meets Vladislav standing outside leaning on a car. He crosses his arms and crosses his legs while staring at his phone. Amelia gets off the cab and pays the cab man. She slowly walks towards him and taps his shoulder from behind. He turns around to gaze at Amelia. His eyes settle on Amelia and a smile appears on his face. "Amelia, you look really stunning. Did you have to dress this pretty just for me?" Vladislav asks wriggling his brows at her playfully. Amelia can not help but force a smile on her face so she does not appear suspicious in front of Vladislav. Amelia can not stop thinking about Goran and what he has in mind for her this time around. "Let us go on in. The treat is mine." Vladislav intertwines his hands with hers and leads her into the restaurant. The restaurant is small yet cozy. Although it is empty of customers and the only people lurking around are waiters and waitresses. Amelia scrunches her brows in confusion and turns to Vladislav. "Why does the place look so empty? Do not tell me that they barely get customers because this place pretty much looks like a cool place." Amelia says with curiosity written on her face. Vladislav shrugs and says nonchalantly "I bought the place for today. Just for you and I." Amelia gasps, she breaks free from his grip on her hand and stares at him in disbelief. "You did what? Oh my goodness, please tell me I did not just hear you say that you bought the place." Amelia yells at him earning glares from the workers in the hotel. "Well you just heard me right, Amelia. Yes, I bought the place for today. Just for you and I." Vladislav says with a smirk playing on his lips. "Wait, why? Why the hell did you do that Vladislav? We could have just eaten like any normal person would do at a restaurant." Amelia says shaking her head in disbelief at how Vladislav does not have the slightest value for money. "I did just so you and I could talk. I have something to tell you."
