Alisha started recalling the scene from her first day at college when she met the most popular boy of the college, Trijal Rajput, for the first time. Flashback: "But ragging is wrong. I will complain about all of you to the principal, and you’ll all be punished for ragging me," Alisha said to a group of students standing in front of her, blocking her way to the classroom and trying to rag her. It was Alisha's first day at college. She wore thick glasses and had a simple, almost outdated appearance. Though she was quite fair-skinned, her appearance didn’t reflect her beauty. She had been brought up in a conservative way, and because of this, she didn’t realize her own potential or beauty. She considered herself plain and unremarkable, having grown used to how she was treated. Mocking her appearance, a girl from the group said, "Who even gave you admission to this college, behenji? Did you come here to collect charity?" Everyone burst into laughter. Alisha felt deeply hurt. Looking around, her eyes fell on Nitara. Turning to her, Alisha said, "Nitara, look! These people aren’t letting me enter the classroom. Please help me! Tell them I’m your sister." Nitara, who was heading to her class with some friends, stopped when she heard Alisha. She glared angrily at her. Hearing Alisha’s words, the group began laughing harder, and one of the girls commented, "Nitara, you never told us you had such an ugly sister." Grinding her teeth, Nitara looked at Alisha and snapped, "Alisha, why are you embarrassing me in front of everyone? I told you at home, didn’t I? In college, we won’t talk to each other or act like we know each other. Why are you openly calling yourself my sister? Someone as ugly as you is not my sister. You’re just my cousin, and nothing more." Nitara then turned to the group and, laughing, said, "When I came here for the first time, they ragged me too. So I won’t stop you from ragging her. Do whatever you want with her. I’m heading to my class." With that, Nitara walked off confidently toward her classroom. Tears welled up in Alisha’s eyes. One of the girls stepped forward, grabbed Alisha’s hand, and started dragging her toward the college gate. She said, "So now, you’ll do what we say. Otherwise, forget about attending today’s class. And don’t think the principal will help you. Nobody goes against us here. Now listen carefully to what we’re saying." Alisha tried to pull her hand away angrily but was also scared. At just 19 years old, she was in such a big college for the first time and didn’t know how to handle the situation. The girl said, "Whoever the first person is that walks through this gate, you’ll have to kiss them. If you do that, we promise not to bother you again or rag you anymore. If you agree, good. Otherwise, we’ll keep harassing you every single day until you leave this college." Half the college was there, laughing at Alisha. She felt utterly humiliated. She angrily responded, "I won’t do anything like that." One of the boys replied, "Nothing wrong happens here. Everyone gets ragged, and everyone gets some kind of punishment. We’ve given you such an easy one. Who knows, you might get to kiss a handsome guy. Anyway, someone like you probably doesn’t even have a boyfriend, so just make do with this." Saying this, they all walked away. Alisha stood at the gate, silent and burning with shame and anger. She thought to herself, Mama and Mami worked so hard to send me to this college. If I get expelled now, they’ll lock me in the house for the rest of my life. It’s better to do what they’re saying, or else they won’t let me live in peace, and I’ll never be able to study and stand on my own feet. I’ll end up being a servant for my Mama and Mami forever. With these thoughts in mind, Alisha clutched her kurti tightly and kept her eyes fixed on the gate. A long time passed, but no one entered through the gate. Seeing this, Alisha turned to the group and asked, "Maybe no one is coming. Is my punishment over?" But, to her surprise, she heard the sound of a sports car stopping. Alisha's body began to tremble. Slowly turning her head toward the gate, she saw a luxurious car parked there. A tall, broad-shouldered man stepped out of the car and started walking toward the college. He was dressed in a black outfit, and Alisha couldn’t take her eyes off his face. His striking silver eyes were particularly captivating. Suddenly, she heard voices behind her. "Wow, her luck is incredible. She’s about to kiss the most eligible bachelor in this college. I’m so jealous! Should we call off her punishment now?" Another voice responded, "Are you kidding? That guy may look handsome, but he’s even more arrogant and grumpy. Watch—if she tries to kiss him, he’ll probably slap her and send her flying. That’s when the real fun will begin." Hearing this, Alisha snapped back to reality.
