The first meeting of the flogging fraternity
Edward and Agatha were there to meet the guests when their carriages pulled into the courtyard. It was the first meeting of the Flagellant Fraternity of the Twisted Thongs. Edward had decided the title because he wanted it embossed on the expensive notepaper he intended to send out to carefully selected potential members.
As well as the name of the society, the notepaper also carried an emblem, the silhouette of a naked woman receiving the lash set in an oval frame.
