Edward makes drastic changes at Colesworth Hall
‘Let me introduce my friend, Mr. Arthur Giggs,’ said Lord Pelton.
‘Pleased to meet you, I’m sure,’ replied Abigail. ‘It’s an honour to meet any friend of his Lordship’s.’ Mr. Giggs cut an odd figure. He was tall and somewhat cadaverous with shiny black hair parted down the middle and features that were anything but regular. He was dressed smartly in a dark suit very like Lord Pelton’s but it did not fit him as well and there was awkwardness in his movements.
In short, he was not a pleasant looking cove but that was a matter of indifference to Abigail Marriott who only hoped Mr. Giggs had a similarly capacious wallet to that possessed by his noble friend and an equal willingness to dip into it.
