--- Chapter 5: The Price of Desire Emilia’s world had become nothing but Damian—his touch, his voice, his commanding presence. Every day she woke up to the cold, unrelenting reality that she was his, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t fight it anymore. Not when her body responded to him with the intensity of a fire igniting at the mere thought of him. Her pulse raced as she stood in his penthouse, her back against the floor-to-ceiling windows, staring out at the city that never seemed to sleep. The lights flickered like stars in the distance, but it was the darkened room that held her attention. It was where Damian had shown her what it meant to truly surrender. She hated it. She hated the way her body betrayed her at the mere sound of his voice, the way she ached for him with an urgency she couldn't understand. It made her sick to admit that she wanted him even more. Damian had made it clear that this was not a game. He owned her now. The truth settled like a weight in her chest, one she couldn’t shake off. She was helpless, and every day that passed, she sunk deeper into his world. “Emilia,” his voice called out from behind her, dark and seductive. “Don’t turn your back on me.” She stiffened, her breath catching in her throat. Without turning, she could feel his presence in the room, the air growing thick with the electricity that passed between them. She wasn’t ready for him to come closer. Not yet. “You can’t run from me,” Damian said, his voice colder, more dangerous than ever. She knew he was standing just behind her, close enough to feel the heat of his body. “Every time you think you can escape, I’ll drag you back.” His hand was suddenly at her waist, spinning her to face him. The force of it sent a jolt through her, a flood of heat that rushed through her veins. His eyes locked on hers, and there was nothing but raw hunger in his gaze. No more games. No more pretending. This was real. “Damian…” Her voice came out breathless, barely a whisper. Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked up at him. He was everything she had been trying to deny. He was the thing she couldn’t resist. He didn’t answer her. Instead, his lips captured hers in a kiss so demanding that her knees nearly buckled. The heat of his mouth sent a tremor through her body, his tongue sweeping into her mouth with possession. She tried to pull away, but his hands gripped her tighter, forcing her to stay. “No more running,” he growled against her lips, his hands sliding under her dress, raising it to expose her bare thighs. His touch was searing, sending waves of molten desire through her. Her heart raced, but her body—her body betrayed her. The moment his fingers touched her, she gasped, her body instinctively pressing against him, seeking more. “You want me,” he murmured, his voice dark and victorious. “Admit it. You need me.” “I… I hate you,” she managed to get out, though the words sounded weaker than ever. Damian chuckled darkly. “You’ll hate me even more before I’m done with you.” His hands were all over her now, claiming her with each touch, each squeeze. His lips left a scorching trail down her neck as she gasped, her body arching into his touch. He was relentless—demanding—never giving her a moment to think, to breathe. He took her then, right there in the center of the room, his movements fast and forceful, driven by nothing but pure desire. Every thrust was a reminder that she was his, and that there was no escaping the control he had over her. “Say it,” he ordered, his voice thick with need. “Tell me you’re mine.” “I’m yours,” she gasped, unable to deny the truth any longer. She was his, in every sense of the word. There was no fighting it anymore. She wanted him. She needed him. And in that moment, as he brought her to the edge of madness with his relentless pace, she realized that no matter how much she hated him—no matter how much she wanted to resist—she was already lost. ---
