As soon as he was back, Josh went to Moon's room to make sure she was ok, but Daniel was nowhere to be seen. Even when the little party organized by Sister Mary and Mrs Solonov had come to an end, he didn't bother showing up nor answering her calls.
Josh just told her he was having a bad day, but she couldn't help but resent him. She was the one having a bad day, and it was her birthday, moreover. He didn't care enough to be there for her, and that was it.
She forced herself not to think about it - about him - while she looked at herself in the mirror, wiping the makeup from her face with a tissue.
She undressed herself and put on a black camisole before washing her teeth. Everything had become so senseless, dull, mechanic. Josh had insisted to keep her company, but he didn't push it when she politely declined, silently understanding her mood and the reason behind it.
She had just laid on her bed when her phone ringed on the bedside table. She didn't look at it, thinking it would be the umpteenth text from one her former teammates or friends she didn't care about anymore, but then the phone ringed again, catching her attention. She put the book aside, took her phone and unlocked the screen, just to see two texts from Daniel.
Daniel -Are you in your room?
Daniel -Moon, I just arrived, can we talk?
She arched a brow, trying to remain unaffected by his texts, but the loud thumping of her heart and the butterflies inside her stomach betrayed her. She was angry at him for ignoring her on such a day, but maybe he had a valid excuse to ditch the party, maybe he had his reasons for failing to stay by her side when she needed it the most. Then she mentally slapped herself, reminding herself that she had no right to expect anything from him. They were nothing and he had no obligations towards her. He was just an horny teen closed in a house with a willing, horny girl in the next door.
Nothing more.
They were just messing around.
And that was the moment she realized she needed to stop whatever was going on between them, because she was getting too attached and she didn't like it at all.
Moon -Hey, Daniel, glad you're back. Sorry, I'm a little tired, already in bed, could this wait till tomorrow?
Daniel -Come on, little brat. Just five minutes. I haven't seen you all day.
Moon -Please, let's talk tommorow :) Really, Lucy exhausted me, today. I need to rest.
Daniel -Ok, I get it. You're angry. Can we talk, please? Let me explain, at least.
Moon -Why would I be angry? :-O I told you, just tired :-/
Daniel -Moon, I wanted to spend the day with you but something came up. I want to make it up to you, babe.
Moon -I swear I don't know what you're talking about, Daniel. There was no reason for us to spend the day together. You're my friend and I understand if you had your things to do. But let's talk tomorrow, I'm passing out.
She felt uncomfortable because of his insistence but she didn't want to see him or she knew she would end up in his arms, and that game was starting to become a little dangerous for her.
Daniel -That's bullshit and you know it.
Moon -Seriously? Are we gonna fight right now? I'm exhausted, why wouldn't you let it go, Daniel??
She heard heavy footsteps in the hallway before the knob of her door turned. The door didn't open since she had locked it before going to bed. She exhaled a shaky breath, the situation was getting stupid and he was definitely getting on her nerves.
Daniel -Moon, open the door please.
She ignored his text. She could sense his presence on the other side of the door, the weight of his body leaning on the wooden surface of it. She could hear him breathing against it.
Daniel -If you don't open the door, little brat, I will break it down. I don't f*****g care whoever hears it.
Moon -You wouldn't dare.
Daniel -Watch me.
Daniel -Or I could jump from my balcony to yours. Maybe I'd end up falling and that'd be your fault ;-)
Moon -Stop being a jerk.
Daniel -I'm slightly drunk, I spent all day thinking about you and I just want to wish you happy birthday properly, but you're acting like a toddler.
Moon -You should have come sooner then.
Daniel -See? I knew you had a problem.
Moon -I'm just stating facts. You can't expect me to just get up at 11 p.m. to let you in my room.
Daniel -I wasn't planning on staying long. I want you to see something in my room instead.
Moon -I can see it tomorrow, can't I?
Daniel -Yeah. But then the ice will melt, the champagne will get warm and undrinkable and the candles will burn out.
Moon's heart started beating faster and her cheeks flushed. She couldn't believe her eyes.
Moon -What did you do?
Daniel -What does it sound like to you?
"Hey, little brat. Come celebrate with me..." his deep and rough voice was a tender whisper from the other side of the door.
When her bare feet touched the floor, her knees were shaking so hard she didn't know if she would make it to the door.
She slowly turned the key on the lock and when the door opened their eyes met and, for a moment, none of them said a word.
Daniel was standing there, a black t-shirt and simple jeans, his gray, deep eyes focused intently on her face, before slowly sliding down the lenght of her body hungrily, lustfully.
"Happy birthday little girl." He whispered, taking a step closer to her, a small smile on his face.
He faintly smelled of acohol and his tongue darted out to moisten his dry lips many times.
"Thanks." She breathed out as he extended a hand for her to take. She didn't even know why she'd opened the door but she knew she was going to end up in his room, doing whatever he was going to ask. She knew she wanted it. She also knew she would regret it right after but she didn't care. Her life was already a mess, her heart was already broken... she could at least take from him as much as she could get.
On the wave of this newfound resolution, never leaving his eyes, she took his hand and let him lead her to his room.
As soon as the door closed she was pressed against the hard wood of it. Daniel's body was pressed on hers, his arms tight around her waist.
"Hi..." he whispered, his hooded eyes focused on her plump lips, his faces only inches apart.
"Hi..." she breathed out, unable to hide the redness on her face.
One of his hands left her waist to stroke her cheek, slowly, softly. Then his lips pressed against hers and all the sadness and the uncertainty were washed away. His hard muscles enveloped her and she felt warm, safe. His tongue, which tasted like sweet rum and oranges, danced with hers tenderly as his soft lips stroked hers with longing and devotion.
She couldn't help but enjoy his strangled moans and the little pants he let out as she deepened the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him even closer. His hands were shaking, as if he was trying hard to restrain himself, and she let out a whimper when she felt his hardened lenght against her soaked panties.
"I can't believe you almost didn't open the door..." he growled while grabbing her tighs to wrap them around his waist, and hissed when his lenght pressed firmly against the part of her he desired the most right at that moment.
"Where have you been?" She asked, her face serious and her eyes fixed on his.
"What? You want to talk about it, now?" He asked in disbilief, leaning backward a little, his breathing heavy, his cheeks flushed, his lips swollen.
"Why are your hands bandaged?" It was impossible not to notice his wounded knuckles. She used her hands to push him gently away, her feet landing on the floor.
"Alright, I'll tell you. Let's have a glass, first." He said, nodding his chin toward the bottle inside an ice bucket, on his desk. "I promise, I'll tell you everything even if you're gonna be angry at me." He said, noticing her hesitation.
"Alright. Something tells me I'll need a drink anyway after hearing what you have to say."
Moon took a moment to look around... the room was lit by candles set on strategic spots, and the air smelled good and clean, incense was lit near the half-open window. Daniel led her to his bed and took the bottle in his hands, his eyes never leaving hers.
"I missed you, today." He said lowly, while his hands were busy working on the cork of the bottle.
"Daniel..." she glared at him.
"I said I'll tell you everything, didn't I?" He said, a slow smile spread on his face. "But first I'd rather know how you're doing... you scared me today."
"That's why you disappeared?" She couldn't help but ask bitterly.
He stopped a moment to look at her, his eyes searching, his handsome face clearly amused.
Then, she heard a pop as the bottle was opened and he spilled his contents inside the glasses, handing one to her immediately after.
"I'm here now..." he sat down beside her, so close their thighs were touching. He brought his glass close to hers and they toasted before drinking. Moon gulped her glass in one sip, well aware of Daniel's presence beside her, of his eyes on her barely covered body, of the thick tension that enveloped the whole room.
She kept looking at the floor, suddenly shy. It was clear they wanted each others and they were alone, locked inside a room with a bed, lit by candles, and it was all very romantic. She had only known a side of s*x: the hard, ruthless slapping of meat, the rough grabbing, the bites, the one-sided pleasure, the shame, the pain. Daniel had made her feel special on the roof, had thought about her pleasure and not his. So now, she was a bit nervous, she wondered whether she would be enough to satisfy him or not, and what if he was doing all that just because he pitied her?
Her train of thoughts was interrupted by Daniel who took her glass and set it on the bedside table along with his. Then, his hand went on her cheek and he gently turned her face toward him.
"Why can't you look at me, sweetheart? Are you that angry?" He asked with a shy smile on his face as his eyes searched intently hers.
"I'm not angry... I just..." she bit her lower lip, not sure what to say, but froze when his eyes landed on her lips and his breathing got heavier.
"What baby? Tell me..." he was panting now as one of his hands played with the strap of her camisole, his lips so close she could feel his breaths on her face.
"I think I want to... to feel you inside me..." she breathed out, shivers running down her spine, straight to her core, so soaked and swollen she thought she could go mad if he didn't do anything about it as soon as possible.
On the other hand, Daniel's mind had just exploded. He'd got hard as steel and couldn't think of anything but her words and how much he would have liked to give her exactly what she was asking for.
His mind went to the night on the rooftop, when he touched her under the stars, and he remembered how warm and wet she was while his fingers danced inside her. And now, the thought of his c**k completely enveloped by that little piece of heaven between her legs was making him insane.
"Moon..." he groaned, his hands now around her waist as he pulled her on his lap. He looked up and their eyes met, and there was no doubt Daniel wanted to devour her and she was very eager to let him.
"Do you... do you want me, Daniel?" She asked hesitantly, a part of her insecure. After all, he was handsome, clever, interesting, full of surprises... full of swooning girls ready to throw themselves at him at the first chance they got. Why would he be interested in her?
Fuck. She was being ridiculous again. Of course he was used to girls ready to give him what he wanted and she was just another of them. But he was also her friend, so he cared in his own way and that was enough for her. He could give her what she needed and she could reciprocate. Feelings didn't need to be involved. She was still young, anyway, she was mentally and emotionally damaged, she had a long road ahead of her and she didn't need to complicate things falling for the wrong guy.
"Fuck... I want you so much it hurts, babe..." he said panting, as his hands pulled the straps of her camisole down her shoulders, exposing her perfect breasts to his hungry eyes.
Then, he gently kneaded them, paying particular attention to her hardened n*****s. His movements were slow, deliberate, as if he wanted to imprint everything on his mind, savoring every little whimper, hiss, gasp. He leaned forward, buried his nose between her breasts and inhaled deeply, his lips nipping at her skin.
"Just..." Moon said while panting uncontrollably. "Tell me you didn't spend the day with another girl..." she blurted out before she could stop herself.
Daniel, who was busy sucking her n****e, suddenly stopped. It took a few moments before he looked up from her chest, his eyebrows furrowed, his hands falling from her body.
"Why would you think something like that?" He asked lowly.
"Forget I said anything, it was a nosy question, you don't owe me anything..." she forced an embarassed chuckle.
"What the f**k are you saying, Moon?" Daniel snapped, gently pushing her off of his body to nervously stand up from the bed.
"What? I said I'm sorry!" She hastily said, covering herself.
"I would never do something like that! I'm not a monster, I wouldn't spend the day f*****g another girl and then knock at your door in the middle of the night for a booty call. Who do you take me for?" He was pacing nervously back and forth, gesticulating animatedly.
"Hey, calm down. We aren't committed to each other so it didn't seem unlikely." She said shrugging.
"This was all a bad idea, but I? I'm the usual stubborn i***t who has to do always stupid shit." He said, taking the bottle in his hand to take a big sip.
"I don't understand what are you mad for, in all honesty." She asked in confusion.
She couldn't believe they had gone from hot to cold so suddenly. Again.
"Just go, Moon. I'm tired." He smiled bitterly, taking a sit on the bed again, the bottle still in his hands.
"I wasn't trying to judge you or make you mad... it's just I'm confused."
"About what?" He asked exasperated.
"You know what? I've had a shitty day, I just wanted to sleep and you practically dragged me out of my bed after ignoring me all day. Now I ask you a question and you throw me out of your room. I'm done with this s**t. I guess I'll find someone else to fill me up. 'Night." She hissed venomously, heading toward the door.
Before she could turn the key, however, Daniel's hand wrapped around her wrist and he pulled her backwards, throwing her on his bed curtly.
"What did you just say?" He hissed, crawling deliberately slowly on top of her, as his hands pulled up her arm to prevent her from moving.
"What?!" She asked, pissed off.
"You just said you're gonna f**k a random guy?" He asked, panting heavily, leaning down on her.
"It's not you f*****g problem, Daniel. As I said, you don't owe me anything and this also applies to me. Now I'd like to go if you let me."
Daniel smirked and before she knew it his free hand went to her chest to rip her camisole, leaving her in her soaked panties.
Moon was so turned on she'd lost all her inhibitions, she was panting and begging him with her eyes.
"I'm not your f*****g plaything, girl." He hissed. "You won't flirt with me and then go around f*****g other guys." His hand was caressing her breasts, his eyes softening when her pleasure grew so keen she shivered and a low moan escaped her lips.
"Daniel..." she couldn't help but whisper when he forced himself to lift his weight from her body.
"We can't do it Moon... there's no going back from something like that and if things go south we'd still have to live under the same roof and it'd be frustrating for both of us." He said shaking his head.
She looked at him silently. He was standing in front of the bed, looking down at her with desperate, longing eyes.
"Maybe. But someone once told me it's good to explore our sexuality, while we are still young." She said with a mischievious smile.
Then, she took off her panties and spread her legs for him.
