A week had passed since that saturday night spent together in Moon's house.
Moon had started working again but she had stopped going to practice.
She was still angry at Malika and didn't want to face her right now and although her other teammates had tried to contact her she just wouldn't answer.
She just spent her time hanging around in her room with Josh, Lucy, or Charlie and Lucas sometimes.
Daniel, on his side, had been quite quiet and reserved. He would stop by for a quick "hello", leaving immediately after, awkwardly.
Maybe it was something she'd done when she was drunk? She couldn't remember anything after Clayton's appearence, only the need to get wasted and forget about everything else.
Well, maybe he was avoiding her because of the weird intimate moment they'd shared in the car.
She tried to force herself not to think about that every time her mind started wandering in dangerous zones.
Yes, she was drunk but she would've never imagined she could be so straightforward about something like that.
Yes, Daniel was the kind of guy who only needed a look for girls to literally kneel in front of him, in the most possible dirty way, moreover.
Yes, they were very drunk and horny, and he kept poking her with his huge- erm, you know.
Yes, her panties were so wet that you could squeeze them and fill a full glass of water.
Yes, she'd enjoyed it.
But she felt a little cheap, expecially after the awkwardness between them. But, oh god, she did like it do much.
She blushed at the thought... but she couldn't stop thinking about that soft yet hard piece of flesh that twitched under her palm... the look on his face while he was lost in the pleasure of the moment, enjoying her touch... the way he looked at her and moaned her name... her inner thighs clenched at the thought.
But maybe he'd regretted that moment, he wouldn't be avoiding her otherwise, but it was pointless to think about it, maybe he was just messing around and didn't know how to tell her.
Well, it was ok to her, she didn't care much right now, she had more urgent problems to deal with. Clayton reappearing was a tragedy and Moon knew he was going to go after her, no matter what, and now she found herself worrying about Josh and Daniel meddle in her business or getting hurt. Or maybe both.
She spent all week inside her room for this particular reason. She'd only go out to go to work, and Josh or Lucas would always give her a ride to go there or return home.
She felt almost relieved when Felicia Donovan told her she was supposed to change school and attend the one the other kids were attending.
That meant she would go with Daniel or at least Lucas and Charlie. She wouldn't be alone and Clayton, maybe, would desist.
That was another reason she didn't bother to go to practice anymore. It was pointless, since she couldn't be part of the team anymore.
But she didn't really care.... she felt so empty, right now, she couldn't bring herself to give a crap about it.
Things had changed a bit in the last week.
Sister Monica, a young, jamaican, pretty lady had returned on Wednesday from her hometown where her family lived.
Mrs Solonov, a tall, middle-aged, stern, russian woman had returned from vacation on Thursday and Moon noticed that since that moment the house had grown silent and grave and that did nothing but contribute fuel her shitty mood.
Josh, however, had told her she wasn't a bad woman, only a very stern one.
"Just stay out of her radar and she'll let you be." He had told her, ruffling her hair.
Then, on friday, Josh had left the house very early in the morning, to come back two hours after with the car full of people.
He'd gone to the airport to pick up the kids who'd been spending their summers with relatives or friends. Moon was in Lucy's room when he was getting off the car, and she could see everything from the window overlooking the driveway.
There was Celine, a tall and very fit, black-haired b***h with a mean eye. She'd got off the car like she owned the place, chewing a gum while smoking a cig. She wore ripped jeans and a lacy red crop top that said "Don't f**k with me".
That was the one Helena and Josh had warned her about. Thinking about it, her whole being yelled "Don't f**k with me", and Moon knew very well she was going to stay out of her way.
Then, there was Anatoli. He was eighteen and came from Vladivostok. He was tall and lean but muscular, and had blonde, almost white, long hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a black v-neck shirt with grey sports shorts that showed his tattooed legs and arms. Actually he was entirely covered in tattoos, up to the neck, down to his fingers. He had his ear cuffs on, and a weird black leather collar.
The last one was Axl, he wasn't as tall as Anatoli but he wasn't short either.
He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes, a tan, toned skin and a smile anyone would die for.
He was completely deaf in the left ear and couldn't hear well even in the right one, so he had to use a hearing aid. He was wearing a Batman t-shirt with blue jeans and had a septum piercing and plump beautiful lips.
Axl and Anatoli were very close to Josh, Daniel and Charlie and Lucas. Moon knew because the guys couldn't stop being excited for their return, they even planned a party for them.
Finally, on saturday, Josh came back with the last two inhabitants, Mya and Meredith.
They were twins and it was very hard to distinguish them. They were fourteen, had blond hair and freckless all over their cheeks, and two pairs of beautiful brown-yellow eyes.
They were very closed off and would really talk only to each other, looking at the others warily.
Mya wouldn't even say a word, Meredith usually answered for them both, anyway. You could always find them whispering to each other and they could be very sneaky.
Moon didn't feel like meeting people at the moment so she closed herself in her room, pretending to feel a little sick to avoid any interaction and when the others had tried to persuade her to come out of her room, Josh had intervened, asking them to leave her alone.
He was so sensitive it took him just one look to notice Moon's changes of moods.
He could take an easy guess about what her problem could be, and had decided to respect her and leave her some space, always sticking near her room, just in case.
It was a lazy Saturday afternoon and Moon was sprawled on her bed, head cuffs on and a lit cig on her hand. Yes, she'd started smoking, since she needed something to do and drinking was a bad idea as she seemed to turn into Mr Hyde and suffer from amnesia everytime she touched a drop of alcohol.
A soft knock startled her.
"Moon, it's me, Josh. Can I come in?"
"Of course..."
Josh stalked into her room holding a tray of food for her and closed the door behind him.
"How are you feeling today- what the hell Moon?!" He snapped as he saw the cigarette in her hand.
"I'm not ill, Josh. You can stop with your chicken soup. I just want to be left alone." She sighed, putting out the cigarette in the ashtray.
"You took the habit?" He sighed, putting the tray on her desk.
"Not quite. I smoke when I'm nervous. I haven't even finished a pack in four days." She stood up to go to the bathroom, she had to pee.
Josh followed inside the bathroom and kept talking to her. She fought a smile... he took the habit to enter in the bathroom everytime she peed, like an old couple, yet they'd known each other just for a week or so.
"Of course you get nervous. You haven't left this room for the past three days. You don't even go to your practice anymore. Now, I know you're still pissed at Malika, but she isn't your only teammate." He said, sitting on the counter of the sink, as she flushed the toilet and pulled up her panties.
His eyes caught a glimpse of her inner thighs and he gulped, instantly forgetting about whatever he was just saying.
She was wearing only a large Slipknot shirt, that barely covered her bottom, and nothing else.
She walked toward him, a smirk spreading on her face as she noticed the heated glance he'd just given her.
"What's the point? I won't be part of the team anymore once I'll switch school." She said, washing her hands, looking at him from the mirror.
"Today we will have a little party in the living room and then the guys want to go out. You coming?" He asked with a cheeky, hopeful smile.
"No." She said, curtly.
"Oh, come on...!" He groaned.
"Testardo. Testardo ed invadente! (Stubborn. Stubborn and nosy!)" She sighed, drying her hands with a towel and stalking out of the bathroom.
"Ok, how can I convince you to come?" He sighed, following her back into her room.
"There's no way you're going to convince me, Josh. Not this time."
"You know, Anatoli and Axl would like to meet you... and I'm sure the twins too. As for Celine, I really don't know what's going on in her mind for most of the time, but who cares, right?" He smiled sheepishly.
"I can meet them at this 'little party' you're talking about. But I'm not going out with you after." She opened her wardrobe to decide what to wear for the evening before taking a shower.
"He's not gonna come for you. You're safe with us." He sighed. "There will be six guys ready to defend you!" He winked, to lighten the mood.
"He would kill you all. You don't know him." She said dismissively.
"Maybe. But we'd give you enough time to run while he's busy killing us, right?" He chuckled, hugging her from behind.
Moon sighed heavily.
"Don't joke about that. I've seen that man stick a fork on his friend's thigh just cause he'd looked at me for a moment too long." Her lips trembled. "I can't stand the idea oh him hurting anyone of you." She wrapped her arms around his ones in her waist, looking at him from the mirror of the closet with sincere eyes.
"Sorry. I won't joke about it anymore, but do you really think I would ask you to come if there was the chance for you to get hurt? I'd never put you in danger, Moon. You can trust me when I tell you you're gonna be safe. He won't dare come too close." He said, turning her around to face him. "Trust me."
"Why are you so sure about that? What did you tell him that night, by the way? I know him enough to know he would've never left me with you without a damn good reason." She was looking him in the eyes very intently.
"I will tell you when the time is right." He pulled a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Until then, I will be in my room." She said, pulling away from him and rushing into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
'They all expect me to tell them about my damn life, but they're the ones keeping secrets.' She thought angrily. Tears escaped from her eyes and she almost prayed to die.
After a few seconds, she heard Josh leaving her room with a defeated sigh.
She just wanted to be left alone.
