Corinne’s meeting with the people both Coral and Mandy assured her would make her new life possible –and her friends had good reason to be thankful to them after all- hadn’t deterred her from what she had in mind for her handsome pig of a husband.
Not by a longshot.
It was a meeting she went over again as she sat in the passenger seat of his BMW; trying to blot out the driver and spouse pre-empting her actions as he drove them to the party that would change his life; excited about the non-existent R&A connection she had sold him and seeing his pals for the first time in a while.
Coral had arranged for her to meet with them in Covent Garden: a “Get to know each other” chat over a light-lunch on the terrace of a busy restaurant overlooking the piazza.
