ONCE UPON THE LIFE OF THE WISE KING Volume 2 The Fall of The Royal Family Chapter 36 - The Incoming War Prince Colin dragged his younger brother, Prince Luciel back to the palace and into the training ground. He went to the artillery, opened it, and pulled out two swords. He walked towards his younger brother, stopping a few meters away from him, and threw one of the swords to his brother, who clumsily caught it. "Be careful, brother! You almost cut off my hand!" the Third Prince complained. The First Prince stared at his brother. I love my dear brothers and I will protect them with my life. But sometimes, this one is just so... he thought and let out a heavy sigh. "What's up with that sigh?" "Nothing. Let us begin." Prince Colin made the first move and in just a split of a second, he cut the tip of Prince Luciel's hair. The Third Prince was stunned. He did not anticipate that his older brother would not hold back. Turning around, the First Prince asked, "Why did you not block my attack?" Abruptly, Prince Luciel turned at his brother. "What the heck was that!" he exclaimed. "You are not holding back!" "Should I?" Prince Colin raised his eyebrows. "Tsk." Throwing his sword away, Prince Luciel raised his right palm. He quickly manifested his majika into wind blades and release it toward his older brother, who barely saved himself with his sword. "See that? I am the most powerful here, brother. I don't need your sword training at all. You can even barely escape my majika." He snorted. Then he turned his back on his brother and walked away, leaving Prince Colin alone in the training ground. Wiping off the blood on his lips, the First Prince stood up and let out another heavy sigh. I just hope war won't break out soon, he thought to himself as he worried about the situation at the southern border. Prince Luciel arrived in his room. He walked toward his wardrobe, opened it, and pulled a new set of clothes to change into. Once he was done, he strode out of his room and went to see his mother. Knocking against the door of the Royal couple's bed-chamber, the Third Prince called, "Mother, may I enter?" "Yes." He heard the muffled reply of the Queen. He turned the knob and pushed the door open. "Mother, how are you feeling?" he asked as he sauntered inside and sat on the bed beside his mother. "The headache is almost gone now." Queen Cielisse smiled. She reached out a hand and stroke her son's face and ruffled his hair. "Such a handsome young man," she praised. "Say, do you have a girlfriend?" Prince Luciel did not expect to be asked such a question. He was taken aback. "G-girlfriend?" he stuttered. "No, mother. I don't have the time to find one." "Is that so?" The Queen helped herself up and leaned back on the headboard. "How was your training, by the way?" At this question, the Third Prince smirked smugly as he boasted how he defeated his older brother. "You probably would not believe this, mother. I defeated brother!" "Oh, really? Tell me, how did you defeat your brother? He is one of the best swordsmen here." "Well, I don't really need a sword to defeat him." He shrugged his shoulders. "With just a little majika and he got blasted away!" Queen Cielisse sighed upon hearing his son's way of defeating his brother. "It is good to have good control of your majika. But, I really hope that you will learn how to fight using swords." "Why?" Prince Luciel frowned. "I'm powerful enough to protect myself, my family, and this Kingdom." "It is important to learn strategic planning as well, and you can learn that through training with your brother." The Third Prince rolled his eyes as he blew his hair. "He can't even defeat me with majika." "Luciel..." the Queen spoke gently as though coaxing a child. "Majika is not everything." "What do you mean, not everything? Isn't it because of majika that we have what we have right now? Anyways, I have to go now." "Where are you going?" "Just outside." The Third Prince did not look back as he escaped from his mother's lecture. Sighing, the Queen thought to herself, hoping that someday his youngest son will understand why he needed to learn how to fight and not just depend on his majika. The situation at the southern border did not look good. Apart from the bandits that they had captured before, they also noticed some anomalies from the direction of Jin Kingdom. They heard that the Kingdom refused to let anyone in, even the merchants. They did not allow their people out either. It seemed the Jin Kingdom closed itself from the rest of the world. General Huns looked in the direction of the Jin Kimgdom. He could not see the Kingdom itself but his thoughts were on it. Meanwhile, at the Jin Kingdom, the King sat on his throne, staring down at his subordinates. The said subordinates were kneeling and shaking. They did not know what was wrong with their King recently. He suddenly changed. Due to some conflict within the court and the King's abnormal behavior, some of the more concerned officials tried to reach out to other Kingdoms to ask for help. But, their King knew of their plan and he had those officials stripped off of their duties. "So, you want to be stripped off of your titles as well?" the King, who Azazel possessed, asked his subordinates. "N-no, You-Your M-Majes-t-ty," the man stuttered. "Why did you try going out of the Kingdom? What are your plans?" "We were just- we were just... trying to buy things... from the merchants," another man reasoned. "And what kind of things?" "Just-just things... and food." "Men!" Azazel called his puppets. "Take these people to prison." The puppets did as they were told. They dragged the screaming officials away and into the prison. Standing up, he asked one of his men, "What's the news?" "My lord, it looks like the Third Prince is the heir. The other day, he used a very strong majika. He turned it into wind blades and defeated the First Prince." "I see." He paused. "Many can use majika in different forms, but only the heir can turn their majika into nature such as what the Third Prince had done. Tell me, what is his name." "His name is Luciel von Sierra, my lord." "Luciel huh..." Azazel trailed off. Then a smile slowly appeared on his face. "I can't wait to get my hands on him after all these hundreds of years." He laughed. "Get prepared. We will visit the Luciel Kingdom soon." "Yes, my lord!"
