ONCE UPON THE LIFE OF THE WISE KING Volume 2 The Fall of The Royal Family Chapter 32 - The Search for The Source of Light When the blinding light subsided, the people who witnessed it from afar started discussing it. They felt how powerful it was, and it got them curious as to where it came from or who did it. The leaders of other countries were also wondering who could have done such a powerful majika. The people at the Luciel Kingdom cheered as they felt the light empowering them. They knew it came from the palace, believing that their King did it. But as to why he did, they had no idea. Nevertheless, they were happy to receive such a majika release. At the palace, the noblemen were silent. The King was with them, so who could have done such a powerful majika release? The King and Queen shared a look. They already have an idea who did the majika release. Prince Colin leaned back, allowing his brothers to stand on their feet. "Wow..." Prince Alphonse whispered. Slowly, he turned to his older brother, and said, "Brother, I did not know baby knows majika release." "Me, too. I was not expecting that he can do it at this very young age. Al, remember this." The First Prince leaned closer to the Second Prince as he whispered, "You must not tell anyone about this, okay?" "But why?" "Because baby brother will be in danger if they knew he can do majika release." Prince Alphonse took on a firm and understanding look upon hearing the reason why he must keep it a secret. Nodding his head, he told his brother that he will never tell anyone. "Very good." Prince Colin ruffled his younger brother's hair. Then, he picked up Prince Luciel. Just as he straightened up, the doors to the balcony were pushed open and instep were their parents, followed by the noblemen. "Father, mother." "Colin." Queen Cielisse rushed to her sons. "What's happened?" she asked as she checked on her sons. "We don't know, mom," Prince Alphonse spoke for themselves. "That bright light suddenly appeared. We don't know where it came from," Prince Colin said. The noblemen talked among themselves. They knew that only someone with Royal blood can do majika release. Aside from the current King, the heir was the only person with Royal blood who can do it. They speculated that one of the three children of the Royal family is the heir. "I think it is true." "Yes. I also think the Kingdom has its heir now." "But, who could it be? It can't be the First Prince." "The Second Prince perhaps? Since the Third Prince was too young to do majika release." "That's possible" Prince Colin heard the whispers of the noblemen. He looked at them with stern eyes and told them that he nor his younger brothers did the majika release. "I was there when it happened. Do you take me as a liar instead?" The noblemen bowed in fear. "No, no, Your Highness. We never thought His Highness is a liar." "We only thought that only someone with Royal blood can do the majika release, so we only thought that maybe..." "There is no maybe," Prince Colin quickly denied them. "Everyone, leave this kind of concern to us. It is the Third Prince's birthday today. We must not ruin his day," King Wenhart said, and everyone resumed what they were doing before. At the Holy Priestess' residence, Priestess Bhavisha got worried when she felt how powerful the majika release. She knew who did it. At one year old, Prince Luciel was able to do the majika release, which was the most powerful so far in history. She was certain that the majika was felt even on the opposite side of the world. That was how powerful the Third Prince was. If her theory was right, other nations would start investigating. Who would not want such a powerful pawn? she thought. I must warn His Majesty about this matter. It seemed like what Priestess Bhavisha thought would happen was already starting. A King from a different kingdom knew that the Luciel Kingdom was different from the rest of the world as it was the only kingdom that had people with majika. The majika helped the kingdom by empowering people. The majika can eliminate any ill thoughts that could result in a crime. It also made the kingdom abundant in food and their products were of the highest quality. A lot of people liked the products from the Luciel Kingdom because of their unparalleled good quality. The King from another kingdom thought that, if he could get his hands on the majika, then he believed he can make his kingdom more prosperous. "I can help you." Suddenly, there was a voice that seemed to come from everywhere. The King looked around in his room but he did not see anyone. "Who are you?" he asked. "You can call me Azazel. I can help you have majika as well." "How can I trust someone who won't show himself?" "Even if I want to show myself to you, I can't do it." "Why?" "Because I don't have a body." Azazel paused, then he said, "What you witness was the majika release. It is a powerful energy that will make any kingdom prosper. Any kingdom can have it, but Luciel Kingdom is selfish. They only want the majika for themselves, without sharing." The King was quiet as he thought over what Azazel told him. Indeed, only the Luciel Kingdom is the most prosperous among them. Despite it facing storms almost every year, they were still able to stand up again as though it never happened. It was easy for them to recover their loss. "What do you want?" the King asked. Even without his body, the King could feel Azazel grinning madly. It seemed like, the moment he asked the question he already agreed to Azazel. "What I want is you," Azazel told the King, and focused all his energy to enter the King's body. The King screamed as he felt his soul splitting from his body. Then, all of a sudden, he fell silent and a sinister smile slowly appeared on his face.
