ONCE UPON THE LIFE OF THE WISE KINGVolume 1The Birth of the Wise KingChapter 20 - The Alpha (Spoiled) Lady of The House
Lady Alyssa stared at Prince Colin. "Are you taking me into your room or not? Which is it?" she asked as she placed her hands on her hips.
"It is not appropriate for a lady to come into my room," Prince Colin reasoned.
With a huff, the young lady said, "You are right, Your Highness. It is not right for any lady to come into your room. But, I am not any lady. As you know, I am your fiance. It is my right to come in where you sleep."
Honestly, this woman...
Prince Colin narrowed his eyes. "I was not informed that you are my fiance, much less that I have one. And you are not allowed to go into my room."
Lady Alyssa sneered. "First Prince, but not even an heir," she muttered.
"What did you just say?"
"Oh, nothing, First Prince. None at all."
"I heard you, you know. I just-"
"What? Wanted to hear it again?" She raised her left eyebrow and widened her eyes.
Now I am pretty sure that she is not my fiance. My father will never give such a woman to be my wife.
"It seems like you are only here to insult me," Prince Colin said. "I'm leaving." He turned his back on the lady and walked away.
"Hey, wait for me!" Lady Alyssa ran after the First Prince. She held her pink skirt up as she followed the Prince. Despite her discouraging attitude towards Prince Colin, Lady Alyssa can not force the Prince to do her demand. Or more like, she did not resort to using physical effort.
The First Prince walked in the direction of the throne room. While on the way, Lady Alyssa kept talking in his ears. She talked about her being his fiance, how they were betrothed as well as when they would get married, where they would live after, and how many children they would have. Prince Colin, on the other hand, tried his best to ignore her. If he was honest with himself, he was quite offended when Lady Alyssa mocked his position as the First Prince. But even so, he tried to be more patient.
Once they arrived at the doors of the throne room, Prince Colin ordered the guard to escort Lady Alyssa to the saloon and have the maids serve some snacks. "Yes, Your Highness." Turning to the young lady, the palace guard asked her to come with him to the saloon.
Lady Alyssa seemed indignant. "I don't want to. I want to stay with His Highness."
"My apologies, my lady. His Highness ordered me to take you to the saloon. Please, cooperate with me."
"Hmp!" Lady Alyssa crossed her arms and turned her head. "No way!"
Prince Colin slammed his palm on his forehead. His patience was running thin on the young lady. Sighing, he told the guard, "Please, drag her and don't let her out of the room."
"Understood."
With that said, that guard started dragging the screaming young lady.
"You First Prince! How could you!!!"
The Prince watched as the guard and the screaming young lady disappeared into another corridor. He sighed again. "This is giving me headaches."
In the throne room, King Wenhart had just finish resolving a minor problem from he farmers when he heard the announcement that the First Prince was outside the throne room. He gave his permission to allow his eldest son in.
"Father." The Prince bowed his head. "I have received the guest. She is currently waiting in the saloon."
"She?" The King was confused.
Looking up, the Prince was also confused at his father's reaction. "Uhm, yes. She. She introduced herself as Lady Alyssa du Vondrich. And also," he paused, his voice becoming soft, "she said that she is my fiance."
"Fiance!? When did you get a fiance?" The King was taken aback.
Thought so. My father will never do something without talking to me first. "Well, I did not get a fiance. She is a self-proclaimed fiance of the First Prince."
"Pardon me, Your Majesty! An emergency letter just arrived!" A palace guard informed.
"Bring it here!"
The palace guard quickly gave the letter to the King and left.
Opening the letter, the King read the content. The letter was from Duke du Vondrich. It said that while on the way to the palace for a visit, his daughter suddenly took drastic measures to hold him up. His daughter caused quite a disaster, resulting in the horse that was supposed to pull the carriage to sleep deeply. His daughter, Alyssa du Vondrich, was obsessed with the First Prince, Prince Colin. When she heard that her father was going to the palace, she begged to go with him. But Duke du Vondrich knew her daughter well. He knew she will only cause trouble in the palace, so he did not allow her. But he did not anticipate that his daughter planned something ridiculous. Because of what happened, the Duke was not able to arrive at the palace, and since there were no extra horses, he won't be able to go to the palace. He also said that when the horse wakes up the next day, then he will immediately visit the palace.
"So, this explains why a young lady came instead of the Duke whom I have a meeting with," King Wenhart said.
"What are we going to do with her, father?"
"We shall accommodate her for now and wait for her father to visit us tomorrow."
In the saloon, a row of maids was crying just outside the door. All of them served snacks for the young lady to eat, but lady Alyssa did not touch them. She started yelling at the maids instead.
"Useless! You are all useless!" lady Alyssa screamed. "I said I am going to see the Prince! Why won't you let me out of this freakin' room!? You even locked me up here! Argh!" She slumped on the couch. "Wait until my daddy hears this! I will make sure all of you will be fired from working here!"
