ONCE UPON THE LIFE OF THE WISE KING Volume 1 The Birth of The Wise King Chapter 5 - The Prophecy Priestess Bhavisha followed the palace servant, who told her to wait for the King in the pavilion, hiding from the crowed and passing by the garden with flower buds. Her face was calm, far from what she looked like before arriving in the palace, but her eyes held some brewing emotions that spoke of something deep. "Priestess, we have arrived," the palace servant said, "and while you wait for His Majesty, we will serve you with some snacks." "Thank you, but there's no need for snacks," Priestess Bhavisha quicky declined the offer, thinking that she had no appetite for any food. "You may leave. I'll just wait for His Majesty here." "As you wish." The palace servant bowed his head and left. Meanwhile, King Wenhart was with his family in the dining hall, enjoying the feast together with other noble families. A maid approached a royal guard and whispered something. After a moment, the royal guard nodded and walked to the King's side. "Your Majesty," he said, "pardon my interruption, but I have news to tell." "Speak." The royal guard said, "The Priestess is here. She said she would like to speak with you. She's in the Pavilion right now." King Wenhart hummed. "I understand. You may go." "Yes, Your Majesty." The royal guard left and returned to his position. Queen Cielise heard the short conversation between them. Knowing that the Priestess was currently in the palace grounds, she frowned a little at the thought of what could be so important that the Priestess herself would go and personally talk to he King when she usually only send a confidential letter before. "Is there a problem?" she asked. "No. Don't worry about it. Stay here while I go to see the Priestess." "Okay." the Queen nodded. "Gentlemen, ladies." King Wenhart stood up as he address the noblemen, who turned their attention to him. "I have something else to do so I have to go first, please enjoy yourselves." "Yes, Your Majesty," the noblemen replied. The King kissed his wife and child before leaving the dining hall together with at least five royal guards. When they arrived in the garden the King told the guards to stay in the garden. Priestess Bhavisha already noticed the arrival of the King. She watched as the King walked towards the Pavilion while the royal guards remained in the garden, a short distance from the Pavilion enough to not be heard. When the King stopped in front of her, she bowed her head and greeted, "Your Majesty." Straightening up, she said, "I have something very important to tell." King Wenhart hummed. "Is it a premonition? How important is it that you have to come and personally tell me?" Priestess Bhavisha inhaled and looked directly at the King's eyes with stern facial expression. "I saw a prophecy, Your Majesty," she began, "of a distant future." The King was silent for a moment, feeling the Priestess' heavy emotions that were trying to hide. "Let's take a seat first." He gestured to the Priestess to go father inside the pavilion and they sat on the stone seat situated around the circular stone table at the center of the pavilion, facing each other. "Now, tell me more about this prophecy," King Wenhart said. "Yes, Your Majesty." Priestess Bhavisha inhaled and said, "I myself is not certain of how far into the future when this prophecy happenes, but I believe during this time the people of today are no longer here and...so does the majika." Upon hearing the words, the King furrowed his eyebrows, a little confused. "What do you mean? There is no majika?" The lady nodded. "It is as what I have said, Your Majesty." "That's impossible! Majika is infinite." "In this world, nothing is certain," Priestess Bhavisha said. Her eyes held certainty about her words which made the King stopped in his tracks. "Majika may be infinite for blessed people, but remember not everyone are blessed." King Wenhart's eyes widened in realization. "You mean...the royal family..." he trailed off, afraid that his own words will become reality sooner or later. "I'm afraid the royal family is-" "Don't say it!" King Wenhart raised his hand. Priestess Bhavisha raised her eyebrows. She was taken aback because of the King's sudden outburst. "Why not?" "If you say it, it will come true." Narrowing her eyes, the lady said, "I didn't know the king of this nation is this naive. Are you aware of the reason why it is called a prophecy?" She exhaled. "It's because no matter what you do, it will happen." "I know that. It's just, the tongue has it's own power, too." "You're right, Your Majesty. But let's face it. In the future the royal family is gone." A moment of silence prevailed between them. "Why?" the King asked. "How did it happen?" "I can't tell the exact reason as to how it happened. I only saw a glimpse of that future, Your Majesty. Because seeing too much is detrimental for all of us," she explained. "Something might have happened between now and the future. I will not rule out the possibility that the prophecy has a connection to our time." The King leaned back and asked the question that bothered him so much. "If there is no majika, then what about the people? What will happen to them?" "That's a rhetoric question, Your Majesty," she said. "You already know the answer." "Maybe...because we don't have an heir that's why the royal family disappeared." The King tried to guess the reason. "Your Majesty, even though what you said is plausible, but please don't believe it immediately," the Priestess said. "Because, for all we know it is something else. Something we least to expect." "You seem to know more," the King asked suspiciously. "Tell me, what is it?" Closing her eyes and taking a breath, the lady said, "Indeed I do know more." She opened her her eyes. "But, this is only a theory and not something I saw. I'm afraid to tell you this yet because even I am not sure. I don't want to give you some false information that might jeopardize everything that we have now."
