"I trust you wouldn't harm Riley. You have no reason to do such a thing." Vincent frowned. Was it his emotions clouding his judgment? He had used the wrong example, causing Dorothy to misunderstand. He turned to her. "What I meant was, she's unaware of our relationship. She has no reason to harm you. Even if it's jealousy, it wouldn't escalate to attempted murder, right?"
Dorothy's reaction was subdued. How could she possibly know Riley's thoughts? Perhaps lying in a coma for four years had caused her brain to regress, returning to a primal, violent state? After a few seconds of silence, she offered a new perspective. "I suggest you have Riley examined. Being injured and unconscious for four years... it couldn't have left her brain completely unaffected."
