Chapter 4

Jacob went through his phone looking at the pile of messages that he sent to Nina but no reply. "Why is she acting differently these days?" Jacob muttered under his breath as he sighed in annoyance.

After Nina said she wanted to end the relationship yesterday at the restaurant, she quickly exited the restaurant and walked home hastily. Before beta Jacob could comprehend what she said, she was already out of sight.

Nina got to the office and avoided Jacob as much as possible. "Nina" Camila's voice took Nina's attention from her laptop. "You didn't call me back yesterday nor reply to my message. I'm worried about you" Nina looked at the woman who slept with her boyfriend and stabbed her to death.

"I'm fine Camila. I was reading a novel yesterday and I lost track of time."Nina faked a smile staring at Camila through her glasses.

"Oh okay. What was the novel about?" Camila asked curiously.

" Well, it was a bad story. The woman was very sick. She had cancer and she found out at the end that her husband was having an affair with her best friend "

" That's gross. What kind of best friend is she? That friend is worse than the husband"Camila gazed into space as she couldn't believe that someone could do that to her best friend.

Camila squatted as she laid her head on Nina's thigh. "I will never do that to you, Nina. Let's grow old and share everything. If I ever die before you, you can own everything I have and if you die before me, I can own everything you have. Let's share everything"

Nina chuckled at Camila's response. If this wasn't her second life, she would have been counting herself lucky to have a good friend like this.

"I'm hungry. I crave turkey sauce today" Camila pouted her lips like a baby asking for candy.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm broke now and I think eating in the cafeteria would be better" Nina replied. Back then whenever Nina and Camila ate out, Nina always paid for the food.

Camila never used her money to order food or even pay for meals whenever they were out. Now Nina thought of it, the signs that Camila was selfish were always there but Nina was blind to it.

"Okay. Let's eat in the cafeteria then" Camila sadly replied as she stood up and went to the cafeteria without waiting for Nina so they go together.

Nina chuckled at Camila's behavior. Whenever things didn't go Camila's way, she would suddenly become angry and once more was grateful for this second life. "Every foolish mistake I made back then will never repeat itself" Nina muttered under her breath as her eyes blaze with determination to stay through to what she just said.

Nina went to the cafeteria and took a flat plate that would contain all the food. Camila who stood at her front took just a little rice and a lot of stew and Nina instantly knew what she was up to. It happened before and it was happening again.

Camila always did something to Nina to teach her a lesson then she will come and apologize like it was an accident and back then, Nina always tolerated her because she was scared of losing Camila and becoming lonely.

Nina also served herself and in a straight line, Camila and Nina both went to find a table so they could sit.

"Oh, there is a free table over there. Let's go that way" Camila turned back and intentionally used her right shoulder to hit Nina hard on the shoulder to make Nina fall hard on the floor but Nina didn't fall but already knew what Camila was up to instead, Nina stretched out her leg, making Camila stumble on it and fall with her food on Jacob who was standing behind them.

"Ouch. Are you blind? Jacob barked at Camila who gasped at the white shirt which had been stained with stew.

"I'm sorry beta. It was a mistake and_"

"You're just too stupid. Sorry for you miserable self" Jacob was too furious to hear what Camila was saying.

Nina just stood there wearing a triumphant smile on her face. "Oh, babe. Are you okay?" Nina asked, pretending to be concerned. "Isn't this your favorite white sleeve" Nina gasped in shock.

Camila suddenly became nervous with the furious gaze Jacob was giving her." I'm sorry beta. It won't happen again. I can get you another shirt"

" Just shut the f**k up. This sleeve is something even your five months' salary cannot get. Get out" Jacob ordered and Camila instantly exited the cafeteria in embarrassment.

Tears were already gathering in her eyes and she didn't want to ruin her face and disgrace herself more by crying.

Nina wore a smirk on her face as she saw everything that just happened. She was proud of herself and vowed in her heart to deal with Camila and Jacob.

This was exactly how it happened in her first life. Jacob was so mad at Nina that she poured stew on his white shirt and he shouted at her, making her embarrassed in the cafeteria. Nina could remember the way she stuttered in fear and even cried in front of Jacob. Camila didn't say anything back then but just pretended like it was an accident.

Everyone in the cafeteria laughed at her back then and after that day, they all called her a crybaby. She was the laughing stock of the full company and that was all because of Camila.

Nina didn't even help Jacob up but walked past him and went to meet Camila raging in the toilet. "No, I'm not gonna cry. This is all Nina's fault. She brought out her leg so that I would stumble on it."

Camila looked at the mirror in the restroom with anger in her eyes. If there was something Camila hated, it was disgrace and embarrassment.

"Camila, are you alright? You look dirty" Nina said, wearing a disgusted look on her face.

Camila just stared at Nina in shock. Nina has never laughed or mocked her before. She was always lovely, quiet, and easy to use but Nina just changed overnight. Camila looked at her shirt in the mirror to see the stains on her white silk sleeve.

She looked at Nina who wore a worried look on her face and an idea came to her mind. "You know you're my other half and right now I need your help so I was wondering if you could switch sleeves with me. I have a presentation this afternoon and I can't do that with this sleeve"

Nina smiled trying to hold in her laughter. She loved how everything was going and liked how Camila sounded right now. Back then when this happened, Nina had a presentation later that day and begged Camila to exchange sleeves with her but Camila refused and that was how Camila managed to be a full-time employee in the company before her so she was going to do the same.

"Oh Camila I'm sorry but that won't work," Nina replied.

" Huh," Camila uttered in our shock. Nina has never refused her for anything before and now hearing this from Nina was unbelievable.

"I have a presentation too and I can't miss it. I've got an idea. Why don't I help you with your presentation while you go home to change? Doesn't that sound nice?"
