Chapter 5 Avoided Humiliation

Hi Nina. Congratulations on your promotion to being a full-time employee. I'm glad your presentation went well and I'm grateful to you for helping me with my presentation. The earrings are a gift to you and I want to see them on you tomorrow. Let's celebrate together tomorrow at 6 pm at Good Appetite restaurant.

Nina had gone ahead with her presentation earlier that day in the office then afterward, helped Camila with her presentation. Nina's presentation was accepted and this made her get a promotion in the office. Nina chuckled at the note she was seeing and picked up the earrings that came with the note. They were indeed beautiful but Nina already knew what was going to happen tomorrow and she was ready for it.

Nina walked around the shopping mall as she picked different elegant clothes, shoes, and bags. Back then when she hadn't been reborn, some of the pack members always laughed at her and mocked her fashion sense and she was ready to change all of that. Nina knew that today was their company's anniversary and she needed to look good for the event.

Nina suddenly halted as she saw beautiful black stiletto heels that caught her eye. The same heels that Camila wore when she caught Jacob in bed with Camila.

"Madam, this shoe will look good on you." The young girl who helped Nina carry around the things she had bought uttered, intending to make Nina get the shoe.

"Yes it's nice but I won't get it. It's meant for someone else and not me" Nina uttered as she walked past the shoe and continued shopping for more clothes.

Nina got to the restaurant and just as she was about to go to the table Camila sat, her phone rang.

"Hi, Nina. Where are you? I'll get you if you can't find your way"

" I'm right behind you" Nina replied with a fake smile on her face as everyone in the restaurant gasped at the pretty lady who just walked in. "What's going on? I thought it was only going to be us celebrating" Nina said as she looked around to see all the employees in Hunt jewelry gazing at her in admiration and astonishment.

Nina walked to an empty seat and sat down graciously. "Wow, what happened Nina? You look different. How did the loser Nina get so pretty?" A young man named Williams sat between Nina and Camila and asked in amazement.

"You even copied Camila's earrings? How disgusting can you be?" Olivia said in irritation. Olivia worked at Hunt Jewellery and was one of the people who bullied Nina so much in college.

"Earrings?" Nina uttered, using her hands to place her hair at the back of her ear intending to reveal the earring on her ears.

"What a minute. They don't look the same. These look nice and expensive" William said as he looked closely at Nina's earrings and then looked at Camila's earrings "And these look cheap. Are those knockoffs?"

Everyone on the table started whispering and looking at Camila in disgust." Did you copy Nina's earrings because those earrings on your ears look very fake?"

" Oh, Camila. You would have just gotten the original ones. There are so many fakes in the market considering that this earring just entered the market and they're selling fast" A young blonde woman who sat beside Camila said as she looked at Camila in pity.

"Well the only reason why Camila would buy the fake ones is because she is broke," William said with a mocking tone and everyone at the table burst out in laughter.

Nina felt good about the humiliation Camila was receiving. The earrings Camila bought as a gift to Nina were faked and she didn't realize in time until a colleague at work brought her attention to it.

"Excuse me," Nina said as she stood up and went to the restroom. Back then in her former life, Nina was humiliated and mocked for wearing a copy of Camila's earrings and no one knew it was Camila that got Nina those earrings.

Nina got to the restroom, did what she wanted to do and just as she was about to step out, the three popular bullies in college then entered at once and stared at her in cold gaze.

Nina's palm began to sweat but she held a confident gaze. "You little ugly omega. No matter the dress or makeup you put on, you will always be unattractive" one of the bullies uttered in anger.

"Is that why you're here? To talk rubbish?" Nina's response stunned them and they looked at each other in shock.

"Shut up you b***h. You copied Camila's earrings, humiliated her and now, you've got the nerves to speak back at us" the other one barked, glaring at Nina coldly.

Nina didn't respond but brought out the pink envelope Camila gifted her yesterday. The envelope contained a letter and a pair of earrings which Nina knew were fake. She handed it to Olivia who stood at the front and was the leader of the bullies.

"I never copied anything from Camila. She gave me those earrings to humiliate me and I just went ahead to get the originals"

" Liar. You're lying. You've always coveted Camila things. I heard Camila and beta Jacob are dating but you are trying to snatch beta Jacob from her." Nina's eyes widened. She just couldn't believe what she was hearing. "You also told her to break up with Daniel just because you liked him."

Nina was shocked by this little revelation. Now it all made sense why these bullies never left her alone. Camila has been feeding everyone with lies and spoiling her in front of everyone.

Nina just took out her phone and called Jacob putting the call on the loudspeaker and he instantly picked up in the first ring. "Hey, baby. Please I'm sorry for the other day concerning the way I acted. Please can you forgive me and accept me back" Jacob's voice was soft and desperate.

He was also celebrating the anniversary of the company but he wasn't on the same floor with Nina. "Okay. I forgive you. Let's go out sometime okay." Nina didn't wait for his reply but hung up on him.

The girls were stunned and they suddenly went mute. They knew it was Jacob's voice. He was the pack beta and everyone knew what he sounded like.

Nina just walked past them and left the restroom. She just couldn't believe that Camila could make up terrible things about her. Now she knew the reason why those three girls bullied her so much and the thirst for revenge only grew.

Nina suddenly felt furious and decided to confront Camila about what she just heard. "Camila" Nina called out, raising the volume of her voice.

Olivia and the two girls behind her quickly came back to the table to see what was going on. Nina's high-pitched voice caused everyone's attention to be on the two best friends.

"Did you date Daniel back in college?"

Camila was tense as all eyes in the restaurant were on her waiting for her reply. "I-I dated Daniel but I didn't tell you, Nina. I'm sorry about that." Camila lied.

" But you told everyone that I told you to break up with him. If I didn't know about the relationship then how is it possible that I told you to break up" Nina's question placed Camila in a tight corner again as Camila suddenly went mute.

"I made a mistake. It was a secret relationship and_" Camila quickly uttered but Nina cut her short.

" Did I know about the relationship or not? Nina asked and everyone's gaze went back to Camila who didn't know what to say anymore.

"Stop forcing words out of her mouth Nina. Who do you think you're to question her? If both parties said they dated, then who are you to say they didn't" Olivia said.

" I don't know what's going on here but I can tell you one thing which is fact and that is Camila and I never dated" Everyone gasped as their eyes suddenly moved to the owner of the voice that was just heard...
