"Hello, champ" Nina kept mute as she tried to listen to be sure of the voice she was hearing. She hadn't heard this voice for more than five years and Nina couldn't believe the sounds her ears were picking.
"Mum" Nina stuttered with uncertainty in her voice as she kept quiet to hear the reply of the elderly woman on the other side of the line.
"Yes, champ. It's me your mother" Nina took the phone away from her ears to stare at the screen again to be sure it was her phone in her hands and not someone else. Caroline didn't like the silence Nina was giving so she just continued talking "I know I've abandoned you my love and that's the reason I'm calling. I'm sorry Nina.
