"Ugh..." Abed suddenly opened his eyes, the glaring sunlight making him a bit uncomfortable. He looked around and found himself lying in the familiar bedroom.
"Didn't I already die?" Abed murmured to himself, his heart filled with confusion. He stretched out his hand and saw that his skin was smooth and elastic, no longer as old and haggard as it was before his death.
He got up and walked to the mirror. The person in the mirror was young and handsome, exactly as he was at the age of thirty.
"Am I... reborn?" Abed couldn't believe his eyes. He pinched himself, and the clear pain told him that this wasn't a dream.
After the huge ecstasy came endless fear. He thought of all the tortures he had inflicted on Lissie in his previous life, and of the empty look in her eyes before her death. His heart ached as if being cut by a knife.
"Lissie, in this life, I will never hurt you again." Abed secretly swore in his heart.
He immediately thought of Tino Yinvile, the woman he had used as a consolation in his previous life and who had indirectly hurt Lissie. A flash of disgust crossed his eyes. The memories of the previous life made him lose all interest in this woman.
"From now on, Tino Yinvile and I have nothing to do with each other." Abed said firmly.
He couldn't wait to see Lissie, to tell her about his change, and to make up for the mistakes of his previous life. He picked up his phone and dialed Lissie's number.
However, what came from the other end of the phone was the cold reminder tone: "The number you dialed is powered off."
Abed's heart sank immediately. He couldn't understand why Lissie's phone was off. Had something happened to her?
He immediately drove to Lissie's residence, but when he arrived, he found that it was already empty. The things in the room had been moved out completely, as if no one had ever lived there.
