While Jacob was having his signature signed on the bill, I overheard a little girl talking excitedly about a funfair that was in town and that it was their last night here before they moved to their next location. “Shall we go?” he asked. I stopped listening and turned my head to look at him, nodding. I grabbed my Burberry clutch from behind my back on the seat and placed my hand on Jacob’s arm that he offered to me.
