Bianca smiled weakly. She didn’t wanted her mum to see the weak part of her. They had warned her not to gt involved, but she was so head bent on helping Elena, their mother out. Melissa stared at her sister with tears slightly dripping down from her eyes. She never expected this unfortunate incident. She had fallen in love with Ricardo even when he was older than her. Elena forced herself continue smiling to her daughter. She didn’t want her to see the weaker part of her. She couldn’t beat seeing her daughter behind bars for what she knows her daughter didn’t do. Bianca opened her food flask. She smiled smugly. “You made my favorite, mum.” Melissa winked. “You and food.” They all laughed aloud. “Mum…” Bianca screamed. “It’s late. I think you guys needs to start going home.” Elena cut in, “You know I couldn’t let my daughter starve, even when I knew that I’d warned you from onset.” “Hmm, this is exactly what I needed.” Melissa laughed softly, while Bianca continued chewing. “You’re unbelievable.” “What?” Bianca asked. “If I am going to sit down here and be accused of murder, at least I have to eat well.” Elena’s smiles disappeared. “Don’t say that, Bianca.” Bianca dropped her spoon. “I’m sorry, mum.” Elena tried holding her tears. She held her Bianca tightly, patting her in her back. “You will be fine, Bianca.” Melissa mutters almost unheard, “You will be fine.” Bianca continued eating. Melissa smiled. “Bellini said I should meet up this evening.” Elena snapped immediately. “For what?” “Mum… calm down.” “It’s nothing, mum,” Bianca said almost like a whisper. “You aren’t going anywhere, Melissa. How well do you know the Bellini?” Melissa was mute. She was shocked at her Elena’s reaction. Melissa said faintly, “Mum, I’m just trying to unravel dad’s disappearance. This isn’t right. A full grown man can’t just disappear just like that, and Bellini is trying to help me out. That’s all, mum.” Elena walked closer to Melissa on the coach where she sat down, holding her father’s past documents. She sat close to her daughter, raising her both arms to lock around her. “You mean a lot to me.” “You and your sister are all I have got since the disappearance of Mark. I haven’t been myself. Let the sleeping dog lie, Melissa,” she said, crying profusely. “Bu… mum.” “No, but Melissa.” “You don’t know this man,” Elena snapped. Bianca sighed. “Mum, let her be.” With Elena eyes filled with tears, her voice echoed through the four corners of the cell. “I warned you, Bianca, but you failed to listen. I told you I could continue taking care of you, but you never obeyed. Instead, you decided to go out there to sleep with random men. Who thought you that?” Elena screamed with her eyes widened in fears. The both girls could see the fury in their mother’s eyes. They didn’t expect her to react the way she had done. Bianca walked slowly to her mum, holding her tightly from behind. Melissa was still glaring at her mum either surprise. She hasn’t seen her quite furious for some years now. She knew this wasn’t a time to disobey her mother. “Mum, it’s alright. I will be out of here.” Elena smirked. “How, when you still don’t know what happened the previous night?” Bianca’s smile suddenly faded. She knew her mother was right. That was the part that frightened her the most. She couldn’t remember, not because she was hiding anything, not because she wanted to protect someone, but because she simply couldn’t remember. Bianca looked down slowly. “I think I can remember something. I stepped into the apartment, and Ricardo was standing with a glass of wine.” Elena’s eyes widened in curiosity. Her daughter must have remembered something. “I remembered kissing Riccardo.” Melissa ran quickly to Bianca with head buried in her phone, trying to jot down what Bianca must have remembered. “What happened after then?” she asked anxiously. “I think that night he wasn’t himself.” “Really?” Melissa questioned. Bianca nodded slowly as if trying to figure out a story. “What happened next, Bianca?” Elena cut in. “I don’t know.” “You don’t know?” Melissa asked. Bianca closed her eyes. She whispers, “I remember him laughing out widely about something, and I remembered passing out on top his d**k. That is all I can remember.” Bianca paused. “And then everything became blurry.” “Try again,” Melissa insisted. “Take a deep breath.” Melissa sat beside her, patting her back. “I remembered drinking from Riccardo’s wine, and I remembered feeling strange.” “Strange as how?” Elena’s eyes narrowed. “Like I was getting dizzy.” “Did you tell Riccardo?” “I think I did.” “You think?” “I don’t know, Melissa.” Bianca’s voice cracked. “I have been trying to remember since I have woken up. I remember the glass drink, but after that everything is just…” She snapped her fingers. “Gone.” Silence filled the room, and Elena slowly sat close to her daughter, sobbing quietly. Her anger had disappeared and replaced by fear. Bianca stared at her mother blankly like a little baby trying to beg her mother not to allow he drown in am ocean. “What if I did it, mum? What of I killed Riccardo unknowingly?” “But the police haven’t said anything about him been killed. It might just be a natural death,” Elena mutters, trying to find words to console her daughter. “Then why are my here if I haven’t been accused? What are my doing Im this f****d up cell?” she yelled uncontrollably, standing up to pace up and down the cell room. “Calm down.” Melissa spoke slowly. “I, Melissa, is going to get to the bottom of all these, and you will be out.” “When, Melissa?” “Soon, I promise.” They both held each other warmly, sobbing in pains. Elena watched her both daughters, and she wished she’d never witnessed this painful scene. Elena continued to watch her both daughters in silence. Bianca pulled out of the warm embrace. “Enough, little bird. I will be good in here, and don’t go all your way out trying to look for evidence. I know I killed Riccardo. There wasn’t any other person in that apartment. It was just the both of us.” Elena’s heart sank when she heard what Bianca had just said. “Bianca,” she said out loudly. “You better don’t say any of that when the police comes back to interrogate you.” “Mum, I would be fine.” Elena reached for Bianca’s face and caressed her cheek gently. “I just don’t want to loose either of you.” “You won’t, mum,” Bianca whispers. Elena looked at both of his daughter’s eyes emotionally. “I hope so.” Just then, a Guard knocked at the door. “Visiting hours is almost over.” Melissa quickly turned to her mum. She hadn’t realized how much time she had spent. She turned to her mother. “Mum, I still need to meet Bellini.” Elena immediately stiffened. “No.” “Mum.” “I said no.” “But why?” “Because I don’t trust him.” “Do you know something about him?” Elena didn’t answer. “Mum.” Elena looked away. Bianca was about saying something when soft footsteps echoed from the doorway. The sound drew closer, then the door opened slowly. Bianca’s eyes widened. Her lips parted, but no words came out. A figure stepped inside. Bianca stared at her, fear flickering across her face. “You”?
