Chapter VII:

Carl’s eyes were very sincere at this point. His voice was slightly low with a hint of excitement in it. How could Ferrin, who was only seventeen years old, resist this straightforward temptation from Carl? Since her witches power naturally awakened, her education in her young age had prevented her from showing her ability. She was afraid of being known by others for her power. She even feared and despised this power. However, this power belonged to her and could not be thrown away. She even once thought she was an unfortunate person and evil, and, dirty, like others said. Later, her family discovered her power. She was taken by her parents to the Wizard’s Tower in person. Out of fear of death, she escaped. But since then, just like the bed bug in the stinky ditch, she has always lived in the refugee slums. She didn’t dare use her power. Even when speaking, she was cautious. But the loss of control over the power made her escape again. Finally, she was caught. When she woke up again, she appeared in Carl’s room. “I... I am willing to do that!” “But, but why don’t you hate me? You came here because of me.” This was the most incomprehensible part for Ferrin. “First, because my father’s subordinate officials are unwilling to come here with me, even a civilian worker.” “You don’t have a choice, and neither do I.” “Second, you are not the ringleader of the event. Even without you, there would be another person used to frame me.” “The third point and also the most critical point…” Saying this, Carl paused, and looked at Ferrin. There was a trace of enthusiasm in his eyes. “Because, I am very interested in the power of wizardry in you, how it appears, and how it is stored in the human body.” “It is a special energy for me, not a curse, and I want to figure it out.” “No other wizard can cooperate with me. Only you can, Witch Ferrin!” “You can think of me as a lunatic, are you willing to follow a lunatic?” Ferrin opened her mouth. She was extremely shocked, staring at Carl with clear eyes. Her heart couldn’t help beating faster listening to Carl’s words. The remaining reason is telling her to stay away from this person. This man was too dangerous. “I... I am willing!” Ferrin said involuntarily. To follow a lunatic! This was really crazy! But the world is already like that. Why not give it a try? The point is that Carl saved her, and she is grateful. Subconsciously, maybe, maybe, she should give Carl some trust? “But, I’m just a witch on the brink of awakening...” “Not even a dream master.” Ferrin whispered. Since her awakening, she had only been in contact with some witches. But these witches, like her, could only hide in a dark environment. They didn’t even have basic practice and cognition. From the awakening to the present, she had been concerned about survival. Gathering strength? Thereby breaking through? It was as dreamy as the name of the dream master. “It doesn’t matter. Isn’t my place in the ruins now?” Carl smiled, showing no contempt at all. He got off the carriage and stood on top of the ruins, his hands spread out, as if embracing the whole world. “This is my place to start, and also yours.” Carl closed his eyes and said. At this moment, Carl seemed to have a layer of brilliance over his body. So divine… this moment! Her originally dreary world suddenly became bright. She has been muddle-headed for a dozen years. Although she was not very clear in her mind now. However, she seems to have found a way to survive. If there was a god in this world, Ferrin was willing to believe, the god was Carl. No matter whether others saw it or not, she saw it. Even if, Carl was really tempting and deceiving her. “What do you think I should do.” The blood on Ferrin’s little face had not been wiped clean, but her eyes were bright. She looked very serious. “The first problem we need to solve is the problem of food.” Carl pointed to his and Ferrin’s stomachs. Then he continued with a smile: “And accommodation.” “Of course, the carriage will be ok for a while.” “But you’ll have to sleep in the same carriage as me as like we did on the way. If you don’t mind, I am very happy to share a room with a beautiful lady.” Carl said with a bit of sarcasm. Ferrin’s face was flushed. When she was very young, before her witch power was awakened, many people praised her. But after awakening, everything changed. Her appearance had even become her sin. This was the first time she had heard someone praising her appearance for many years. Ferrin was a little overwhelmed. Her thinking dropped from Carl who was full of sacredness just now down to the dust again. It’s an amazing feeling. “Don’t think too much. Even the god has a human nature. If there is no more, it just means that he is no longer qualified to rule over mankind.” Looking at Ferrin, Carl shrugged his shoulders and said. As an atheist from the 21st century, in his cognition, God is at most a human with more power. “Until these problems are resolved, I am more interested in your wizardry powers.” “Will you show them to me? If you don’t mind” Carl said seriously. “The power of witches!” Ferrin hesitated. Carl knew that she couldn’t change her mind all of a sudden. According to ordinary people’s perception, the power of witches was evil. “Believe me!” “You don’t have to scruple.” Carl stepped forward and took Ferrin’s palm. Ferrin struggled away like a frightened rabbit. But she found Carl’s hands heavy and strong. There was some struggle in Ferrin’s eyes. After a while, she nodded heavily. “I don’t know what a wizard is like, but, according to the witches I’ve come into contact with…” “After awakening, it is just a force that seems to have no attributes.” “It can be mobilized in the body and can be released.” “But I think, even without attributes, there will be preferences.” “For example, my power is scorching hot.” “In the third stage for wizards, called “genuine knowledge”, I heard that the power will be completely attributed to one attribute.” “I guess my power attribute is fire.” After thinking about it seriously, Ferrin sat on the carriage and briefly explained what she most profoundly knew . Carl’s eyes were eager to try. The previous memories in his mind told him that there were supernatural forces in this world. But since being here, he had never seen it. “May I……” “Sure!” Ferrin knew that Carl wanted to see it. She put it straightforward. Her mindset had begun to shift. She stretched out one of her fingers. Then, an invisible, but clearly felt, force was forming on Ferrin’s finger. She was, gradually getting hot. The air was distorted by the release of this scorching power.
