Matthew had learned it at nursery school. It had amused him then, and it still did. Because he laughed so much after he’d sung it, Daisy let him away with it. Matthew loved birthdays in general. They didn’t have to be his. He’d burst into Daisy’s room that morning, not waiting for her to open her eyes and sit up before he started singing.
