Chapter 11 - Take Her Away

Jackson POV

I watched her as she pulled away with Brax in the car till, they went around the curve and hung my head. I am an i***t. I lean my head back on the headrest, I am so exhausted. I couldn’t sleep last night, I think I slept for maybe 2 hours, only to get up and stare out the window at her house. As the sun came up, I went and took a shower and decided I would go over and ask her for coffee at 7:15, that gave me maybe 20 minutes to get dressed and figure out what I was going to say. As I stood on her doorstep, I had nothing, and when she opened the door, I had nothing. I knew I was wrong, but I had to see her, I had to make her listen.

I started the car as I get the link from my father. ‘Your mother is already irritated at Cassandra. Apparently, the girl thinks you are going to propose.’ I just shake my head and link him back.

‘I have given her no impression that I would do that. I told her we had to talk.’ I link him as I turn the car around and start back to the house.

As I pull up to the house Richard comes out, “glad you got back just in time.” He tells me.

“You’re not going to the office with them?” I ask him as he comes to stand next to me at the end of the driveway.

“No, I am needed more here. They should be here in the next 20 minutes.” He tells me as 4 black SUVs round the corner. Two SUVs stop at the end of the inlet, and one stops in front of Emily’s house and the other Braxton’s. Two men get out of either car and I look at Richard. “I know it looks excessive, but I do not trust her at all. Your father has men watching her parents’ house and her two friends as well. As soon as we are able to get her phone, they will move in to take them into custody.” He tells me as he watches the inlet and nods to the men, who come up and stand on the sidewalk in front of the house looking like security guards for us.

“I see you have this all planned out.” I tell him with a slight laugh.

“I have been looking forward to this for 3 years Jackson. I waited and watched, at one point I almost had her when she was in Florida with her friends. She was tipped off somehow, I think her mate did it unknowingly.” His tone of voice made me understand his frustration. “We put out a warrant for her and I think he told her. She can’t go back to Florida without getting arrested. I suggested her going there knowing she would still get arrested. Either way she will pay for her stealing money from you, and…” Richard tapers off.

“And what?” I ask him crossing my arms.

“Well, at one point she tried to use the money she took from you to put out a hit on your father. I think she thought with him out of the way you would become King and then would take her as Queen.” Richard just put his head down and then took his hand out of his pocket and put it on my shoulder. “We got lucky; I knew the guy she hired very well.”

I just stood there stunned with my arms by my side. Who was this woman? I thought back to all our moments together. In the beginning I thought she was my world and then the cracks started showing after I refused to mate with her. She would blame me for everything. Her manipulation was masterful. “I feel like a fool.” I said rubbing my face.

“Son, it is not entirely your fault. She had some help from her mother, and I can’t totally prove it, but I think a witch.” Richard said, shaking his head. “I can’t believe I even said it, a witch, I didn’t think they were real, but then I am a werewolf.” He said laughing a little.

I just nodded as I watch 2 black SUVs round the corner. I linked dad telling him they are here. He is walking out the door nodding to me.

“Your mother beat you to it. Cassandra is in the second one alone, your mother couldn’t take her anymore.” He says as he tries not to laugh.

As the cars stop the men in the first car get out and open the doors. The second car stops, and the back door flies open and Cassandra gets out and somehow in the stiletto heels she has on is running to me with her arms open. I just stand there with my arms crossed at my chest. I keep my eyes fixed on my mother’s car as she gets out and shakes her head. My mother’s blond hair is swinging as her jaw is set and even though she has sunglasses on I can just imagine her eyes are closed as she prays to the goddess.

Cassandra’s arms that are wrapped around my neck start to loosen and she pulls back to look at me. I finally look at her in the face and I can’t hide the hate coming off of me. “What’s wrong baby?” She says softly and I can’t help myself as I clench my jaw so hard, I am surprised my teeth don’t break.

“You can let go of me.” I say to her as I step back, and her hands go to my crossed arms, and I see her phone in her one hand. “I will take that.” I say as I take her phone.

“What? Why?” She says stunned as she steps back as well. The guards come to her and each take and arm.

“We are finished. You are under arrest.” I say to her as I hand her phone to Richard. “Would you care to tell her ALL the charges?” I say looking from Cassandra to Richard.

“It would be my honor.” Richard says to me.

“Wait! What are you talking about? And get your filthy hands off me!” Cassandra screams as is looking at the 2 men next to her frantically.

“Cassandra, I know everything. From the money you have taken from my bank accounts to the fact you tried to have my father killed! We are done. You have slept around with…” I get cut off by Richard.

“Last time I checked it was up to 10 different men.” Richard says to me with a smug smile on his face to Cassandra.

“Well, I wouldn’t have to go find love somewhere else if my mate here could actually perform as a mate should!” She says with a smug smile back to Richard.

“Here is the thing Cass,” I take a step closer. “I found my mate yesterday, and she is beautiful, smart, and everything you’re not. She doesn’t disgust me to the point I can’t mate, actually quite the opposite.” I say leaning into her ear and I hear her growl.

“Who is it? Who is the mate stealing b***h!” Cassandra says growling.

I step back as Richard steps forward. “That is none of your concern. Now as for you, you will never have a chance to get near her since you are under arrest and will be going back to the Royal Pack lands to await your trial.” Richard says with a smile as the guards put her hands behind her and put silver cuffs on her. “I would list the charges, but that would take half the day, and I have better things to do. And you have a long ride in the back of a truck.” He finishes as he walks back to stand next to my father who nods to the guards.

“You can’t do this! I gave up everything for you! You will regret this, Jackson!” She screams all the way to the SUV. They open the door and practically throw her in.

I turn around and see Crew with his phone recording the whole scene and then back at my sister just outside the car on her phone as well. Crew just smiles as he runs over to Caroline.

“What are you two doing?” I ask them as they huddle together.

“I just sent an anonymous recording to The Pack News.” Crew says with a smirk.

“Wonderful.” I say shaking my head.

“Actually, it is wonderful, everyone will see it and know that she is at fault.” My father says. “And her family and friends that helped her are also in custody. I see that also made the news” He comes to me with his phone showing me the news feed. “Now we release the statement the Richard already worked up and you will come out of this better off.”

“I just hope Emily gives me a chance at this point.” I tell him walking towards the house. I hear Lemon’s phone ring. I turn and see she is already next to my mother as she pulls out her phone and looks at me and answers the phone.

“Hi Mia.” Lemon says, smiling, looking at me.
