What’s happening here ?

( the silence weighs heavily, broken only by the soft ticking of the old shock , and the distant rustling of the leaves against the window)

Have you both gone deaf ? ( Christy says as she turn to look at gorge and Isabella )

I am so sorry madam

It’s all my fault , just showing her what to do next ( George says as he stares right in to christy eyes )

And you why are are you standing there ?

Who are you ? ( christy says as she turned to look as she stared at Isabella giving her a silly look )

Hmmmmmm ( Isabella stammers as she fidget with her hands , voice quivers , her gaze darts around the room in search of an escape )

Why the stammering ?

Why are you fidgeting little girl ?

Can you tell me who you are ?

Has the cat caught you tongue little girl ( Christy shouted in an harsh tone )

“Gorge answer me”?

Madam she is our new house help ma ( Gorge says as he signed Isabella to kneel down )

“ New maid “

But I never asked for one George ( Christy responded as she lifts up her hand to bring up Isabella head to observe her face well )

Sir Jerry brought her in as his personal maid ( George says )

Did I hear someone saying “personal maid “

Who is this personal maid ( Deborah interrupted as she turn to look at Isabella who was kneeling down and to gaze at Christy and Gorge )

“ Good day mother “ ( Deborah greeted )

“ Thank you my daughter “ ( Christy responded )

I just noticed they brought in a new maid in this place without my notice

And I don’t like her she is clumsy

Who did that with out your notice mother ( Deborah asked as she glanced through Isabella’s eyes )

I heard it’s Jerry

But why would he do that ,

We don’t need more helping hands here

We are fine especially coming from this clumsy girl ( Christy says )

“You are right mother “

She looks dirty and hungry

And she smells bad too

I don’t think she would be benefiting for this job mother ( Deborah responded as she pulled up Isabella’s face giving her a weird look )

What’s your name again stupid girl ( christy asked again )

( A chill crept through her skin , the icy wind nipped at her cheeks and her breath formed wisps in the frigid air )

Am I not talking to you little girl ( Christy said as she drew close to her harshly )

“Sorry ma “

“ My name is Isabella ma” ( Isabella said as she fidget with her hands , her voice quivers as gazed at Christy through her eye balls )

I have nothing to do here any more

My son have a lot of questioning to answer then would get back to you ,

Gorge I don’t want you to show her anything again

Will be back ( Christy said as she hissed her way through )

“I honestly don’t like you “

You shouldn’t be here

How can my husband make such decision without informing me or anyone else

You are his personal maid ( Deborah says as she turned to leave )

“ Don’t mind them “

They are just trying to be hash

They would come around

For the main time just know your purpose in this house ( Gorge says as he gave his Isabella an encouraging smile )

Who are they ? little brother ( Isabella asked )

Who ? Madam Christy and Deborah ? ( Gorge laughed )

Well madam Christy very important

while Deborah not really important but just stay away from her line , ( Gorge says)

“ That didn’t answer my question “ ( Isabella says )

“ Okay fine “

Madam Christy is like that general mother of the house ,

She raise Jerry and jerome so practically like a mother to them ,

Everyone answers to her

While Deborah

She is just the selfish and greedy wife of the boss

Who loves to seek attention

You know why your here just focus on it and leave them

They would be tough I know Bt with time they would come around ( Gorge says as he hugs his sister giving her a smile )

I just pray I get to the root of all this mess and we all be together again as an happy family because I am tired of all this , honestly little brother

This journey is not going to be easy ( Isabella says as tears streamed down her face , her shoulders, slumped, and her voice cracked as she whispered “I really can’t do this anymore”)

I think it’s time I take you to your room

They might be listening to us

When we get there I want you to explain to me the reason why you are here and what happened to mother .

( Isabella smile as she cleaned her tears smoothly and said lead the way man of the house )

No one is allowed to know we are related or know each other

So we address each other formally

So our heads won’t be feed to the wild animals

“ I hope you got it clear sister “ ( Gorge says as he opens the door to leave )

“ sure I got the game sir ( Isabella responded as the both laughed )

What is the meaning of this rubbish

Why would you take in laws into you own hands

I am your mother so I should know anyhow you keep in this place ( Christy says in a loud voice )

“ Mother are you talking about the slave girl “

Didn’t mean to take action fast but I think I need her here

But I employed her here for my self alone

And don’t worry I would be save ? Jerry says as he seats down to chew her apple

She is smelling , clumsy , disgusting , and I can’t stand her ,

So you are going to get her back to her master

Or better you sell her off ( Christy says as she glanced into her son’s eyes )

“ stop it mom “

You are overreacting ,

As I said earlier she is for me and me alone

So she is not going back and please stop seeing me like a Ten years old child father picked from the street long time again ,

I ‘m all grown now

So please my decision is finally ( Jerry says as he waited away for his mother angrily )

“ The paint peeled from the weather walls , creaky floorboards echoed each step , and dusty cobweb draped from the ancient worn ceiling “
