Chapter forty six - I followed him

I bumped into my brother on his way out.
When I asked him where he's headed, he told me that he's going to the hospital and that he has patients to attend to.
Did you think I believed him?. Well, obviously no.
It's been over two months since he went to any hospital and all of a sudden, he's ready to go back to work and he's expecting me to buy any of that.
I watch him as he descend the stairs.
Should I follow him or not?. I guess I should.
My brother has never hidden anything from me and now he has started becoming so conservative of his affairs.
This only makes me more suspicious.
I rush after him, making sure that no one sees me.
He drives off without any of the driver.
That's one, my brother never drives by himself unless if he wants to go somewhere without anyone's knowledge.
He usually does that when he's depressed which is unusual or when he has a mission that he wants to tackle alone.
I secretly follow him, hiding in the trees sometimes.
When he parked in front of the house that Emily and that girl were, I wasn't shocked.
I suspected that he's heading here.
I hide behind the trees till he enters the house and I followed suite.
I see no reason for him to lie to me about coming here, I wouldn't have asked the reason.
I would have just asked him to bring me with, or maybe he lied to me because he doesn't want me to come with.
That's two points. My brother never lies unless there's a big reason behind it.
I followed him to the room and see what's going to happen.
Is he going to kill her or what?.
Gosh! No. I just don't want him to kill her till I find out the whole truth, that's the reason why I keep pestering him to hand her over to me.
I can't see much from the door but I can say what's going on without any stress.
They keep staring at each other for some minutes until she looks away from him.
I'm standing by the door but I can definitely say that there's some chemistry going on in this room.
She even seems unhappy when she sees him but her eyes narrate a different story all together.
He slowly walks over to her, so close that I think that there body is touching each others.
He slowly raises his hand and try to place it on her head but he stops.
That's three point. My brother never tries to pat a woman on the head, not even me.
He's never done that to me, not that I can remember.
"W...what do you want with me?" I hear her say.
Please where can I get an explanation of what's happening here.
What did he want with her and what did he get from her the other time?
Man! I need answers.
I hear someone walking behind me, so I immediately walk away from the door and hide.
It was Emily.
What's is she doing here?
Now I have to miss some things because of her.
I can't even hear what they are saying.
My brother is a clever person you know. He made the room sound proof, even for supernatural ears.
Some minutes later, she walked out of the room, I mean Emily, walked out of the room.
She's also smiling I see.
What on earth did I miss now?.
I hope it's not much.
I quietly walk back to the scene, oh I mean the room.
"I'm not interested in you or anything that's related to you" he says.
What did she ask him this time.
So, if he's not interested in her then why is he here secretly.
Something tells me that Emily didn't know he's coming over as well.
She would have been in the room other wise, waiting for him.
"I just wanted to hear it from your own mouth how you planned the attack on my pack members that day" he says, answering some of my million questions.
So he's confident that she's involved.
But why did he have to come all the way just to ask her this?.
He could have asked Emily to do that.
Oh! Wait a minute, I forgot that she has a soft spot for the girl now.
But Harry would have done the job. And there are also many others here but he wasted his time in an hour ride just for her.
That's four points.
"What exactly do you wanna know, my involvement, or the whole truth?" she asks him.
This girl really got the nerves.
No one on this earth would dare ask him such kind of question and escapes alive, I'm sure of that.
He sped to her.
Please God! Don't let him kill her, even though she deserves to die but I still need my answers.
He's so close to her face now, the tip of there nose almost touching.
"Don't you dare test my patience young lady" he growls.
Now that's more like my brother. I expect him to strangle her or do something to force the information out of her but none happen.
Instead, they fall back into their staring contest once again.
For a minute there, I thought they were going to kiss but luckily, she looks away from him.
That's five points.
He's interrogating her and at the same time, trying to get close to her.
I don't know if he's doing that consciously or subconsciously but he definitely wants to get close to her.
"Yes, I'm very much involved for your own kind information" she shouts at him.
What! I don't have the courage to believe that.
Don't blame me if I say so but then, it might be true.
I decide to continue listening, maybe she's just playing around, I just can't get myself to believe a minute creature like her can do that.
"In fact, I orchestrated everything, don't I look like the kind of person that would do that" she says, pointing at herself.
No, no! I can't believe that. So it's true that looks can be deceiving.
But my guts is telling me that there is more to this story and sadly, I wouldn't be able to find it now.
I know he's going to kill her just like he did the other time.
But it seems like the universe have another plan, he just walks away from her.
He start turning into the monster everybody describes him as.
He looks like he's battling with his humanity and insanity right now.
That's first, my brother never hesitates to kill when the situation brings itself forward.
"You know what, I feel like sucking the life out of you right now, but you don't even deserve to die in my hands" he says or his beast says after holding her ruthlessly by the hair.
He throws her away and turn to leave the room.
I immediately walk away from the room and hide.
I won't risk him seeing me over here. Not with this anger of his.
Now that's six points.
I have a feeling that if I'm gonna count points, I'll run out of numbers.
I waited for about five minutes before I walk out of my hiding place.
I'm sure he's far from this place by now.
I take a peak into the room once again.
Now Emily is inside.
I want to stay and hear the end of what's going on but then again, I want to check the condition my brother is in. I walk out of the car.
I see the car is still parked but he's no where to be found.
Where could he be?.

Katrina
"Katrina, I'm really sorry" she says as she sits besides me.
I didn't answer, instead, I keep crying.
"Please, tell me why did you do that to yourself?" she asks.
So he already told her about everything.
"My only regret is that I'm still alive, why didn't he just kill me already" I shout, in between my tears.
"No, Katrina, don't say that" she says.
She starts to wipe off my tears.
"What do you want me to say?" I ask.
"I know it's not my place to say, but why did you have to lie to him?" she asks.
"So you think I lied?" I ask back.
"Yes" she answers confidently.
I can't believe her. How can she confidently say that I lied. I mean she doesn't even know me that well.
"Yes, I know you lied" she says again.
"Katrina, I know that we have only met days ago" she says.
"But I know by now that you would never do anything like that, ever" she says.
Ohhh! This makes me feel so happy.
At least I have someone who trusts me.
But that won't help me in any way.
"Now, please will you at least trust me and tell me the real truth" she says.
I stare at her for a minute, I know I can trust her but what's the use of telling the truth now.
He has destroyed everything that was loved by me and I won't let him destroy the rest.
"It all started when we went to that field trip..."
I tell her everything that happened till the end, I mean when I found myself stuck here.
"No, that's not right, you were the one whose being wronged here and I won't let this happen to you again" she says angrily.
I hold her hand as she tries to get up.
"What do you think you are doing, don't even try to stop me, I'll go and tell him the whole truth" she says before I even try to say something.
"No, please don't do this" I beg of her.
"No, I won't let you be treated unjustly" she refuses.
It took me a lot of begging before she finally agrees that she won't tell him the truth but she still didn't promise.
At least I'll have sometime to convince her.
She gave me some injection and leaves me to rest.
I really do need one after crying my heart out.
