“Erika!” he yelled for her to come out into the kitchen. “What?” she asked as she entered the room. “Get me a drink! Don't these people have any booze in the house?” Lance ordered Erika. She began opening and closing cabinet doors searching for liquor. As far as she knew, Lance never drank during their marriage. She had begun to realize that she had never really known this man. He was a complete stranger. He was totally opposite of what she had thought he was. She found a bottle of corn liquor in the cabinet above the stove. She poured the liquor into a small glass and slammed it on the table. Lance gulped the brew down and demanded another glass. For a moment she thought if she could get him drunk, she might be able to get the revolver away from him. “Don't look at me like that woman!”
