Chapter Eight
Robert Stein had received the message from his secretary. He immediately rushed to the hospital as he believed that his daughter was a patient there. He sped up the stairs leading to the lobby entrance. He ran up to the desk.
“Could you please tell me what room Erika Freese is in?” Mr. Stein asked the desk girl anxiously.
“I'm sorry. We do not have a patient by that name,” the clerk replied in a pleasant tone of voice.
Mr. Stein looked at the desk girl with a puzzled brow. He was very concerned at this point. He imagined the worst-case scenario. His thoughts were racing.
“Well, I would like to speak with Dr. Watson then!” He glanced at the note that he had jotted down on the pad when Ms. Kyles had called him.
“Sir, we do not have a physician employed here by that name.
