Chapter 3

It’s weekend, and I love weekends, cause I have no classes, so I get to just stay at home and relax and by relaxing, I just eat a whole bunch of chips and watch a lot of movies, and it makes me Soo happy, at least that would also take my mind of Jason, thinking about him makes me so sad and I do not want to feel sad about someone who doesn’t even know me.

“Grrr grrr” my phone rings, my mom is calling, I roll my eyes before answering because I know why she is calling.

“Hey sweetie how are you doing?”

“Hey mom, I’m fine, what about you, how’s dad too?”

“I’m okay, your dad is okay too, just called to know when you are coming home for the weekend,so I can send the driver to pick you up, you know you have to get a make over before the dinner tomorrow, we have to make sure you are looking like a doll……”she continues talking while I just space out, my parents are trying to set me up with their friend’s son,Seth, I have known him since we were kids and we never got along, he was rude and a bully too, the thought of being with him totally irritates me I can’t imagine marrying that ugly face.

“ hello, hello sweetie are you there?”

“Yes mum, I am here”

“So what time, should I pick you up”

“Mom honestly, I am not interested in Seth and I’m very sure he isn’t interested in me also. We never got along as kids and I do not think we will now.”

“What are you talking about, you have known each other all your life, I believe with time you both would grow on each other, and besides you are not getting any younger, at your age I already knew your dad, and look at us now we built a fine family. So you can too and remember, this would be good for both our companies” the last part got me rolling my eyes, cause it’s always about how to get more money.

“Emily sweetie, you know I always support all of you choices, but this you are coming to the dinner and that’s final, I will pick you up tomorrow morning myself” she said with a tone of finality and ended the call

Ughhhh I sighed, I couldn’t even watch my movie again, my weekend was officially ruined, I was boiling with so much anger I decided to let it out by taking a walk. I put on some comfortable clothes, and left my dorm, just as I came out of the building, I bumped into someone and low and behold it was Jason, I felt like I was frozen in time, I couldn’t believe I was seeing him again, I was certain he didn’t live in this building cause if he did I would have seen him before, I’m pretty sure I know everyone that lives here

“Hey it’s you again” he said with a smile his insanely charming smile

“ yeah it’s me” I said with a little nervous laugh

“It’s so nice to see you again, what’s your name again?”

Oh he forgot my name, wow “Emily”

“Yeah true, your name was just as beautiful” he said with a chuckle.

“Do you stay in this building?” He asked

“Yes I do. What about you?”

“Oh no I don’t, but my younger sister does so I came to see her”

He has a younger sister, oh wow

“Oh that’s really nice”just as we were talking I saw his girlfriend approaching, what’s she doing here, does she stay here too, I wondered. She walked up to us

“Hey bro” she said giving him a hug. That moment I felt like a fool, cause I have been so jealous of his sister and even mistook her as his girlfriend. Classic Emily

“Hey sis, this is Emily my friend, Emily this is my sister Josie” he introduced us

“Oh hey Josie, it’s nice to meet you”

“It’s nice to meet you too Emily. Alright I will leave you guys to talk, so you later bro” she said and walked into the building

“So Emily, what’s do you say about coffee sometime, so I can get to know you better”

“That would be really nice”

“Great. Let me have your phone number, so we can talk some more”

“Alright” I gave him my number we said our goodbyes and he headed inside.

I couldn’t believe what just happened, the guy I’m crushing on asked me out, it felt surreal, I spent about 30 minutes just walking around and smiling to myself. When I got back to my dorm, I couldn’t help but think, if Jason and I become a couple there is no way my parents would allow me marry Seth, it all played perfectly in my head, I started watching my movie and drowning myself in chips, maybe today wasn’t a total burst after all, I slept that night with a huge smile on my face, it was my best sleep ever.

“Grrr..grrr..grrr” woke up to my phone ringing nonstop, who could be calling at this hour and calling incessantly, I picked up my phone and oh s**t it’s my mom, I totally forgot we had plans for today, not that I’m interested in it anyway, I pick up the call

“Morning mom” I say with a yawn

“morning to you too Emily, I can’t believe you are still asleep at this hour, it almost 10 am I have been calling nonstop, we have to hurry, time is far spent and we have a lot to do today”

“Alright mom, I will be down in ten” I say and end the call I quickly go to the bathroom, brush, bath and got dressed and headed downstairs to meet my mom. Today is going to be a really long day.
