Chapter 18 Mechanical Wolf

            My heat lasted a full week. However, Jax is coming back home today and I am so ready to see him, even though we talked a lot, I really missed him. I am pacing up and down the entryway, waiting for him to up the door. I stop as soon as I hear footsteps walking to the door. Before he can even get the door pulled open, I open it and give him a huge hug. He freezes and then relaxes after minuet. He sets his suitcase down and hugs me back gently. “Hello darling. I missed you too.” He says as he takes in my scent. “Did you have fun with Kai?” I asked curiously. “Yes and no. We mainly did paperwork for the pack. “he says. “Oh, well I am glad you got some stuff done.” I say. I start to shift back and forth on my feet nervously. “What’s wrong baby girl? He asks worriedly. “Well, Bellona has been dying to work out and practice. So, I was wondering, if you had anything that she could practice her skills on. I do not think that we are ready for wolf to wolf combat yet, even though she does. So, I would just feel more comfortable that’s not real.” I say nervously while looking down. He walks over to me and gently lifts my chin up and looks me in the eyes before saying “My dear, you don’t need to be afraid or nervous to ask me things and the answer to your question I might just have. Kai has been working on a project for me and I will ask him if it is close to ready and then we can see about training. However, right now would you like to watch a movie with me?” I give him a small smile and reply, “I would love to watch a movie with you.” We go to the living room and he puts a cheesy romantic movie. I don’t even remember what it was because I feel asleep about halfway through it. He gently shakes me awake. I get up and tell him goodnight and head to my bed. I wake up fairly early to the smell of some amazing food. I decide that I should shower and get dressed for the day before I head downstairs for breakfast. I stop right before I walk into the kitchen, stating at Jax. He is so handsome, and I can’t believe how patient he is with me. Sometimes it feels like it is all a dream. “Do you like what you see darling?” He asks catching me off guard. I blush and look down. “Of course, I do.” I say meekly while feeling my cheeks heat up more. He smiles and fixes to plates and walks over to the table and setting them down. “Come eat, love.” I walk over to him and sit down. “This looks delicious!” I say excitedly. I really love food. “Darling, how would you like to help Kai and I try out our new project?” He says nervously. “Sure, what do you need me to do?” I say trying to keep the excitement in my voice down. “Well, since you wanted to train in wolf form, I figured this would be perfect. I will need you to shift into your wolf and fight the mechanical wolf.” He says, “Yeah, that sounds great.” I say excitedly. “Okay we are going to have to go to the pack house and try this out because my workout room is not big enough. I have notified the pack, so we don’t have to worry about anyone interrupting us.” He tells me in a comforting way. “When can we start?” I ask. “As soon as we are done with breakfast or whenever you are ready.” He tells me. I nod my head at him and quickly finish breakfast. Bellona and I are so excited to get to go train. As soon as we are done eating, we walk over to the pack house. Once we make to huge workout room, I enter inside and look over the mechanical wolf. The mechanical wolf is all grey, hard rubber teeth and the claws are also a hard rubber too. So, it cannot do any major damage but could still hurt me. Its eyes right now are just completely sliver with little triangle shapes. Its eyes are like a closed flower before it blooms. I finish observing my opponent and start to undress before I shift into my wolf. Once I am done shifting, I let out a few yips before Kai and Jax walk in. “Okay, Bellona and Elle I use this controller to turn on and off the mechanical wolf. Once it is one, it will follow your pattern and study how you fight. Once it gets that down it will exploit your weaknesses. It is supposed to help us wolves become better fighters. It can cause no serious damage but can leave some pretty nasty bruises. If it gets to be too much let out two yips and I will turn it off. Okay?” Kai explains. Bellona nods her head as to say okay. The mechanical wolf is a little bigger than what I am. However, Bellona is also not average werewolf size. She is more of an average wolf size. Kai turns on the machine. Its eyes open and blue light come out of it and scans over my body. I start to circle it and it does the same. We do this for a while before Bellona and I get tired of circling and we make the first move. I run straight at it before I duck down low to go at a leg. It moves out of the way at the last second but mangers to nip my right flank. I growl at it and this time it comes at me. I jump to the side missing it and manage to go grab its tail and swing it across the room into the wall. It quickly gets back up and watches me. This time I run at it but instead of ducking down, I jump straight over it and quickly turn around and grab it left flank with my mouth and yank it the ground. I then climb more on top of it and go for its neck. It suddenly reaches up with its mechanical mouth and gets my paw. I let out a yelp and bite at it, it lets go of my paw and knocks me off. I quickly get back and run right back it, but this time I am going for its ear. It rears up at me and catches me with a claw on the chest. This point I am starting to get frustrated. I always take down my opponents quickly. However, Bellona is enjoying herself, she wants to show off for our mate. I let her take full control and she circle it again, growling and showing her teeth at it. This time she lets it makes the first move and when it does, she dodges. Then she grabs its hind leg and yanks it down hard. The mechanical wolf manages to get a bite on my belly. This pisses Bellona off. She still has a hold of the hind leg and starts to violently shakes it. Kai starts to yell that it is off and to stop. However, as soon as Kai yells, Bellona rips it leg off. She takes him the leg and drops it. At first, she looked proud and then she looked at him and noticed that he looked sad. She starts to lick his hand. He smiles and says “It is alright, I’m not upset. I am just surprised, I thought I made to be indestructible.” We look at him confused. “I made it body out of silver, so if any of the pack members got past the thick fur and fake skin that they wouldn't be able to harm the body and it is welded and bolted together. I didn’t even think that Bellona would be able to destroy it, but I was wrong.” He says with a chuckle. Kai pulls out thick gloves and grabs the leg and the rest of the mechanical wolf and heads back to his office, I guess.   Jax also leaves. I quickly shift and get dressed. I walk out of the workout room and Jax says “That was amazing my love.”  “Thank you.” I blush. “Next thing is to find out the data that MW got from your fight. Of course, after Kai fixes it” He laughs. “Sorry about that.” I say embarrassed. “It's alright, darling.” He says with a smile. “So is MW what you’re calling the mechanical wolf?” I ask. He replies with a simple yeah.
