Chapter Two Some weeks had passed since that day by the Red Scowl, and the snows had mostly melted around the village. Life had gone on as before, the water restored to its proper flow and everyone going about their work as ever. Beathan had no trade, but he was capable of most work nevertheless. As such, Tristan often changed his role from month to month based on the village’s needs. This month, to his displeasure, he’d been assigned wood chopping duties. This was one of the more physically demanding jobs and so Beathan hated it more than others.
