***Callie's P.O.V.***
A powerful sensation rushes through me the second we completed the mating process. The feeling was unlike anything I ever felt before. This emotion wasn't a want or a need. It was something stronger and something that was causing a loud ringing in my ear.
I get up from being on top of him and walk towards the window, hoping the sunlight would help soothe me. A dreaded awareness engulfs me, causing my head to pound to the point that I thought I might die.
"Callie?" Sam says softly at first.
I can barely hear him calling out to me, and worse, I'm not able to answer. I try to focus on the sensation and breathe through it, but my lungs don't want to cooperate.
"Callie, what is it? What's wrong?" his voice sounds far away even as he walks toward me.
