The Meet

Cynthia's POV 

This is where I  live in the middle of Alaska well for now I do, I never stay in one place for too long.

I like to stay secluded, something about being around people all the time annoys me.

I'm not lonely though I have Selene (Her wolf). Oh yeah that's something important to know, I can shift into a wolf, humans call people like us werewolves.

I was born this way just like every other wolf, we all have our inner wolf, they speak to us and also guide us in life.

My wolf happens to be the spirt of the moon goddess, no one but me knows this. If other wolves found out who I am they would try and use me as a weapon 

The Moon Goddess has only ever taken human well in my case wolf form once, when the wolf world was thrown into chaos, she came to restore peace within the packs.

She showed them how to live and work together, she also granted us mates. You will find out about mates later on.

I don't know why she returned now, she will not tell me until we find the right pack, so I've been traveling all across America to find them.

"I've been running around for hours I'm exhausted" I said walking slowly towards my cabin  

"I like this little cabin, I wish I could stay here I'm fed up of bouncing from one place to another, I best get some sleep, I have a long day tomorrow, I'm going to scope out another pack, from a distance though". I thought to myself as  I changed into my pj's.

The truth is, I have no idea what pack I'm looking for. Selene, my wolf, hasn't spoke to me in such a long time. She's shut herself off and I  don't know how to get through to her. 

I'm basically going on a wild gooses chase around the states, I hear a whine and some words from her her and there but it's like  she's broken.

I don't blame her to be honest, we were rejected by our mate and nothing more in the world hurts like that so a mate is someone you are destined to be with, you are together forever. You share a bond with them like you do with no other. 

It's very rare to reject your mate because it's hard to be without your mate when you have found them.

Our mate was Caleb and he was everything we could ever ask for, we loved him very much. I thought to myself before drifting of to sleep.

( In Cynthia's Dream)

I grew up in and out of foster homes when I shifted for the first time, I joined a pack, it was called The Gold Sun pack, Caleb is the alpha's son,

We met at school and instantly felt a pull between us, so we became friends and eventually fell in love, we had no idea we were mates, there was a possibilities of it.

Wolves don't find their mate until the age of 18, you can feel the pull between your mate  before you turn 18, but you won't know for sure until you turn 18 and you can smell them.

Your mate has a unique  smell that intoxicating and makes you go wild but also makes you feel safe. Caleb smelled of toffees and lilies, and I  loved that smell so much. 

I'm 18 now and so was Caleb that was the moment this is where we found out we were meant to be.

I couldn't control myself once I  found out so I just said " Mine" while blushing like there was no tomorrow.

I was overwhelmed with joy and lust for Caleb, but when I kissed him, something happened, I felt a surge of power run through me.

Caleb must of felt it because he pushed me away 

 " Caleb? what's wrong? " I asked curious 

 " I.. I  can't be with you " He said shockingly 

" But why? We are mates surely your wolf needs us?" I said sadly 

" My wolf is telling me I can't be with you." He answered 

"No, we are mates Caleb." I replied 

" I am sorry Cynthia, I can't tell you why, this hurts to do this but.."

"Don't you dare say it Caleb! " I said yelling at him 

"I reject you Cynthia, I reject you as my mate, as my life partner, as my everything" He said you could hear the hurt dropping from each word 

"NOOO!! CALEB!!" I screamed crying 

As soon as he said these words, something inside of me snapped physically and emotionally. I felt a pain I couldn't even begin to describe. 

Selene broke an I felt all of her pain as well as my own, no one knows what it's like to be rejected as it's very rare. I have to walk this world on my own. 

No soul mate beside me, no chance of ever having a bond like that with someone. I was empty, what I felt for Caleb before was gone and replaced with hollowness.

I could never love again.

( The Next Day) 

Well  I suppose I best go for a run before I go off to scope this pack.  I thought to myself 

The pack i was scoping out today are called The Nero Lupo'

Which is The Black Wolf in English. They are called this because the Alpha is always a black wolf, every Alpha they have had has been black.

A black wolf is known to be the most powerful wolf out of all wolves and they are the Alpha of all Alphas Basically you don't want to mess with a black wolf.

I have to tread carefully here because if I'm spotted then there will be trouble.

I shift into wolf form as my senses are 100 times better. I can smell other wolves scents but they are a hours old, must be patrols from last night. I shouldn't be too far from the pack house now . 

'Selene are you there? Do these scents mean anything to you?'

No response. Just as I expected I wish she would to me, at least let me know what it is I'm looking for and why.

All of sudden I hear a twig snap I quickly dart off hoping it was only a rabbit.

(Cynthia's Mind) 

This must be the pack house, I can smell wolves everywhere. There has to be at least 12 inside.

Who are you and what why are you here?

(Cynthia's Mind)

Cynthia  POV

I'm Cynthia, I'm a little lost could you help me?

Unknown POV 

Hmmmm.. I'm not quite sure I believe you, I can't seem to smell you scent but your certainly not human that much I know.

Your coming with me, you can answer to the Beta.

Cynthia  POV  

The ginger haired woman grabbed me and pulled me towards the house. I can't believe I was so careless.

Where did she even come from? I didn't smell any wolves around  the area, only the ones inside the house.

Now i have to stand before a Beta and lie through my teeth about who I am and why I was here.

If you're wondering what a Beta is, it's the Alpha's right hand person, second in command.

I'm glad it's not the Alpha I will be talking to, I do not want to have to lie to a black wolf. 

(Cynthia Mind)  

This place looks amazing, expensive but beautiful. They clearly have good taste

They seem to be taking a while. MY wolf hearing isn't picking up any noises either.

They must of had a witch enchant the place.

I need to think of something quickly to say, they can't know I'm a wolf because my fur will give away whi I am

Yes that's me, I don't want any trouble. I'm sorry if I was trespassing.

I was jogging in the woods and I kind of Zoned out and went of my usual route and got lost.

How can I be a wolf? You can  see I'm quite clearly a human, see I have 2 legs and I don't have a snout nor fur. 

(Cynthia Mind ) 

His golden eyes are giving me daggers, if only looks could kill.

I study his face in this moment of silence, he has slight stubble like he's forgot to shave for a day but it just adds to handsomeness.

His golden eyes are beautiful, I've not seen anything quite like them.

Unknown POV

You are staying her till I know more about you and make sure your not a threat.

I will get Mary to show you to one of the guest rooms. Do not try to leave you will be stopped immediately.

(Cynthia Mind )  

Great, just what I  needed! 

Mary POV

This is your room, you have an en suite so you don't need to leave the room unless to eat

I'll bring you some spare clothes for you to wear tomorrow.

Cynthia POV  

I suppose I could be in worse accommodation, I should be thankful that they haven't thrown me in a cell.

I haven't got anything to wear to sleep in so I suppose I should shower and sleep in my underwear.

(Meanwhile)

Kane POV

I've given the girl a room in the house until we know if she's a threat or not.

Something seems off about her, she has no scent, she's either withholding it,

If she is then she must be a powerful wolf because I only know of black wolves to do that .

Philp POV (Kane's Dad)

Maybe she doesn't know she's a wolf?

Kane POV

Is that even possible? Her wolf would be talking to her even if she hasn't turned yet..

Philp POV   

I'm not sure son, but it's best we keep an eye on her, If she does know she's a wolf then either she's dangerous or hiding from someone dangerous.

Cynthia POV    

I guess Mary must have dropped off something for me to wear whilst I was in the shower.

    I guess it will do for now.

That night I dreamed of Caleb, my mate. It's been 5 years since I've been in a pack house.

The Gold Sun pack were like my family, but when Caleb rejected me, something inside of me changed.

I didn't feel like I belonged there anymore, so I ran away 

Being here was reminding me of who I used to be. I hid for so many years, I never changed into wolf in front of them. 

Selene told me that no one must know who my wolf is until the time is right.

Now she is so broken, she won't tell me when the time is right. I'm so fed up of hiding away.

One thing I know for sure is I need to get away from this pack, I don't know how much longer I can lie about who I am.
