Ocean's Acquiescence: Part 2

1322 Words
Blurred images flood my mind as a deep sense of want and a greater feeling of loss begins to take root in my mind. I might not be able to see the images clearly but I still feel the passage of time and the emotions that follow A many great trials it seems pass by for what seems to be naught but a child. With a sudden jolt I am left staring at the only clearly defined feature in the last memory. Locked eye to eye with me as if time its self had been frozen. The greatest feeling of familiarity begins to take root within my very mind and heart. “This was me.” I think to myself as understanding blooms from this one thought. The memories that had flashed before me begin to spiral around and clarity begins to bloom, bringing a vast array of color to every bit of my peripheral vision. “With water comes the ebb and flow of emotion. With water, you come to know the true sense of Sorrow and the depth of mind. Let your memories be the ocean that brings about endless growth and the boon of life to your very sense of self.” I hear from behind me, this time instead of warped whispers, hushed groans or childish giggles. I instead hear it in my very own voice. Turning to the source I am greeted, not with a shadow, but the face of the child that stood in the final memory that had been given to me. Crystal blue eyes that seem like the very depths. Short and tidy dirty blonde hair that drops down just to the ear lobes with Androgynous features otherwise. “When the time comes to learn who you are and where you have been. Remember me and these memories. As they will guide us to a future where we are whole.” they say just as they place their hands on both sides of my face before leaning their forehead against mine. With a bright overwhelming light the memories along with the figure proceed to streak in to my mind through my forehead before leaving me standing with my eyes closed and alone. Opening my eyes and I find myself standing before the blackened mire once again. With a pause I take another look at the water before me. Realizing I have a greater sense of familiarity now than what I had before I simply take a step out onto the surface of the water before I am greeted with a luminous result. The water beneath my feet clears up as if the mire had never been there to begin with. Taking another step, one after another the water begins to shimmer and glow as if it were made of its very own ocean of stars. Purity spreads in my wake as I travel ever onward. Looking down once more at my feet I find luminous sprites shuttling around beneath eh surface of the water. Looking closer they seem almost like Koi, and yet they are much closer to what had formed in the Crystal holt. Lunar Moths shooting back and forth with every step I become mesmerized until I reach the shoreline on the other side of the mire. Looking back towards which I came, I see a familiar scene. Almost as if it were from the world on the other side of the library doors. An endless crystal sea that shimmers under the very sun. Clear and true. Looking to the moon I can recall that in my past life I had often found myself in very similar situations. But before I could get lost within the feeling of nostalgia, I hear the sounds of foot steps behind me. Slow they are as if time has almost ground to a halt I turn and see a band of men and women approaching with their guard in full. Looking at their party they seem to be a group of about 5 or 6, and once I look the lead in the eyes time seems to return to normal. “Good evening friends.” I say in the most gentle and welcoming voice I can manage. Pausing in their steps the party lessen their grip on their equipment before coming closer. “Good evening?” says the one at the head of the party before scratching his head. “What happened here? We heard explosions from our camp site so we thought there would be something happening.” He said before turning his eyes to the water behind me. Eyes wide he looks to me, then back to the water then back to me before asking once again “What... Happened here?” as he walks past me and reaches out to touch the waters surface. Bending over and collecting a hand full of water in the palm of his hand Lunar Sprites flutter up up around his hand past his arm and up into the air. Stepping away from the man I think nothing more than fading away from sight and mind I seem to become shrouded in darkness before the party forgets about me as they move to the water's edge with their leader before going even further, stripping down to small cloth and playing in the water. Sitting down on a rock I just simply sit and look to the moon once more before getting lost in thought. Letting time flow around me as I sit I lose track of the events around me I wake to a strange scene taking place. A small town is being built around a singular statue. One shaped in my very own likeness. Standing before the statue I can't help but puzzle at why the statue was made and where it came from. Looking around to find someone to ask I find out that the small town is far more built than I had thought initially. Built between the old ruins, the trees that used to be brittle and dead are now flourishing and have bridges built between them. People swim and play in the water as shimmering Lunar Sprites flutter around the men and women, boys and girls. Stepping towards the water I stop at the shore and wave to those who might have answers only to realize that they can't see me. Wishing to be seen to get answers the people around me gasp in shock as I am now able to be seen. “I understand now.” I think to myself as I realize that I can bend the moisture around me to influence the way light bends around me. Letting me hide myself from the vision of the naked eye. Stepping towards the crowd that has gathered after revealing myself I can only see looks of reverence among them before I think “Duh, there is literally a statue in my likeness naught but a few feet away from me.” after remembering the statue. Wanting to palm my face in realization I stop approaching them and instead take a moment to pause. “Where did this statue come from and why was it made?” I ask in a calm and gentle voice. Or at least as calm and gentle as I can make it. Though even asking seems to have caused alarm as they begin to kneel and bow before me. In a flustered panic I try to raise them to their feet as more and more people gather and bow in reverence. In utter frustration I sigh before hiding myself and walking off. Leaving the group behind and wandering off on my own. The walls that once stood in the whole of the area where the city once stood are but small fragile remnants of what had once stood. I wonder how much time has passed this time as I began to pass by the once grand structure.
