Nina's POV.
I couldn’t believe the ruins that were everywhere. I know I was too young at the time to remember what the place looked like. I do, however, remember how peaceful we were before that night, when my brothers and I would run around and play hide and seek. How Asher always peeked in my direction when counting when he was the seeker.
I was young then and got upset when he did that, especially when I caught him. But now I understood why, he was just being a protective big brother. He only ever peeked to make sure I was hiding a safe distance away. Even though he knew where I was hiding, he always came to find me last. I guess it was so he wouldn't upset me.
