I ended up apologising to Mateo after class and he did the same. There was an awkwardness to my apology, so once I said what was needed, I was out of there. It was only second period but I didn’t need to stick around, I just made sure that I handed in all my assignments. I called Asher to come to pick me up as I knew it was his lunch break.
Getting out of the SUV, I walked straight into the house and smelt freshly baked croissants. Ever since we found our grandmother and brought her back home with us, all she does is cook and clean.
