“My love, your son has been demanding for you from the moment he woke up. Please tend to him, as I have a few errands to complete for the Elders.”
I growled softly at the interruption. Pulling my hand from the King’s elbow, I turned to him, lifting one brow in silent demand for an explanation.
The woman turned to me with a saccharine smile and said, “How rude of me. Please, allow me to introduce myself. I am Astoria Black, mother to His Highness’s firstborn.” She curtseyed, though her voice dripped with hostility.
“Skylar Radolf, daughter of Alpha Viktor. I am here on a visit with my parents. If you’ll excuse me, I must return to the castle. Urgent business with my lady-in-waiting,” I said, tone cool and controlled.
