“AHH! There you are! The King and Queen—I’ve been looking for you everywhere!”
I looked up at the stranger bursting into the room, my face flaming a deep crimson at the compromising position we’d just been caught in. He, however, seemed completely unfazed by his interruption and strolled into the office with Stella and the pup still peeking in from the doorway.
“I’m truly relieved to have found the both of you. I’ve scoured the entire castle.”
Edmund, visibly annoyed by yet another interruption, sighed heavily and turned to face the newcomer.
“Uncle, to what do I owe this most untimely visit?”
“There’s no need for such rudeness, Edmund. I have a matter of great importance to discuss with you both—and it cannot wait.”
