“I finally found him,” I whispered in relief, standing under the makeshift shower they had constructed in this dismal shack. I let the cold water wash away layers of dirt and grime that clung to my body. Though the water was freezing, it soothed the aching and throbbing of my limbs—not to mention the raw burns that damn witch had left me with.
My encounter with Blue Oasis had been a close call. I couldn’t believe how unbelievably stupid I’d been, following those mangy mutts into an ambush on the Alpha’s daughter and the future Luna of their pack.
