The atmosphere in the passageway immediately turned so tense you could taste the negativity in the air. Emily—Kyle’s long-standing girlfriend, for lack of a better word—threw herself at him, breasts and all. He stiffened at the contact. I turned to Stella, who was statue-like and completely emotionless, the smile she wore frozen in place.
