5 years later
Sitting at my office at the moment, signing boring contracts, rejecting nonsense proposal and such, I heard little step that immediately lifted my spirits up, it my baby, Asmara, my little bundle of joy.
Asmara peaked in the doors gap, and then signed “Mommy?”
“Wait, little miss, you shouldn’t bother madam at this hour” my PA interrupted, panic in her face. Lifting my hand as I motioned her to stop and wait outside.
“Yes baby?” I answered with a smile on my face, stopping my work.
“I, can I play with you?” Asmara signed with a pout on her face, looking at me with her big and tantalizing eyes, my heart instantly melt, with the sight
“Baby, you know that you are always my priority right? it is a sure thing that I would play with you, I am not busy when it comes to you.” I responded with a smile plastered in my face using a soothing voice to let her know that I am not bothered by her. Asmara smiled, and run towards me
“Mommy upsies?” she asked motioning her hands upward at my direction, I carried her and safely settled her in my lap.
“So, why are you here baby?”
“You know, at school today I got a star!” smiling cheekily, then she showed me her star stamped in the back of her hands.
“Whoa, what’s that star for baby? did you do something so amazing?” I asked my voice masked with amusement.
“yes, yes mommy, you know, my teacher was struggling to carry her stuff so I so I offered her some help, and then she smiled at me and let me carry one of her books, and then you know when we are in her room she offered me a star and a candy as a thanks, she said that I am really a good kid” my daughter told me, excitement in her voice while playing with my hands and her dangling feet continuously sway from one side to the other.
As she told me her story I can’t keep my eyes of her, she really is my angel, she is the reason why I am what I am today.
“Mommy?” interrupting my monologue
“Yes?”
“Can we go to the mall? Please? Looking at me with those big blue pleading eyes
“Sure baby” giving in, on her big blue pleading eyes.
Carrying her in my side, we went to the elevator, as i was about to push the close button my secretary stopped us.
“But, madam you’re still not finished signing these papers, and you have a really important meeting with some clients this lunch.” She said while trailing behind us, her voice laced with anxiousness and nervousness
“Cancel it all, and I can sign those papers later on, now don’t bother us, I have a date with my daughter.” I responded sternly.
After a while, at the mall
Frantically scattering my eyes at the mall, my heart pumping hard from panic, no, not again. Suddenly I heard my daughters laugh, which is unexpected since we are in a place full of people, and she never talks with a stranger since the incident happened.
With my developed sense of hearing, I tried to pinpoint my daughters location, luckily I saw my daughter in a bench with a woman kneeling in front of her.
I was relieved when my eyes met my daughter’s eyes, it was more shocking to see my daughter whispered to the woman’s ear, since my daughter would never talk or interact with other people in front of anyone except me, ever since what happened in the warehouse.
But soon the calmness I felt turned into panic, when the woman stood up and looked behind her locking her eyes with mine.
“Cory?" the woman asked, disbelief in her voice, surprise in her eyes. Walking passed the woman, totally ignoring her presence I walked towards my daughter and hugged her.
"Are you alright?" I asked worry in my face my voice shaky, maybe from the adrenalin rush.
The little girl signed that she is okay and that I shouldn’t be worried.
“How can I not worry about you? I just moved my eyes away from you for a second then you’re gone? “I porously signed to my daughter.
My daughter then tried to explain that she smelled something familiar and relaxing and followed it, my daughter then looked down and started to sob. With a heavy heart I hugged her and coed her, whispering and explaining my side as to why I was angry at her.
I later on I realized that, there was a presence starring deeply at them. I turned around while carrying my child to thank the Women, but was surprised as to see who it was.
"Tania!"
“Cory?”
