They did it a time or two more, just in case. Kissing Jason was not a hardship; Colby, buoyed by painkillers and Jason’s touch, could’ve filmed all night. Jason kissed him one final time after they cut, and began, “I know we’re supposed to be doing Laurie’s dinner party thing tonight, but if—” His phone, handed over by the other personal assistant Serenity, was chiming, and derailed the question. “Your agent,” Colby said, remembering the ringtone. He ought to be cold, wearing only a dressing gown; oddly, he wasn’t. He had Jason’s arm over his shoulders. “Um.” Jason hesitated. But now they were having similar thoughts about news stories and revelations and any arriving fallout; Jason sighed. “I’ll make it quick. Susan? What’s going on? If it’s about—what? They want me to what? Hang on…”
