Chapter 4: Day 29Morning. Wavering light, uncertain of what it wanted. Tentative clouds and peek-a-boo sun. Colby paused to gaze out the window, hand resting over his jacket where it’d landed on the back of the chair, the night before. He wished the weather would make up its mind; he’d prefer some solidity, some encouragement, a storm. He felt a bit bad about that—wishing the weather would be something it clearly didn’t desire to be—and tried to instead appreciate the patterns of shop-windows and pavement and cozy English village that nestled outside the window in dappled sun and shade.
