Chapter 7: Housekeeper Robot

Chen Shen was satisfied with the three items he received, all of which he needed. The beginner tasks had no time limit, but daily tasks had to be completed within a system day. The beginner tasks consisted of 99 rings, while the daily tasks had 9 rings, needing completion each day. Not doing them would waste many StarCoins, and Chen Shen couldn't afford to do that.

Checking the real-world time displayed on the system, Chen Shen realized that despite spending a long time in the system, only a few minutes had passed in the real world. Since it was still early, Chen Shen wasn't in a rush to log out. He focused on completing ten rounds of the beginner tasks and all eight rounds of the daily tasks. The system didn't restrict the time to complete the beginner tasks, but some required multiple system days to finish.

He could complete up to ten rounds per day. After finishing all the tasks he could, Chen Shen earned a pile of StarCoins and StarCoin chests, along with other items like StarCoin lollipops, StarCoin zongzi, and StarCoin tangyuan—all containing only StarCoins.

Only the StarCoin chests had random amounts, while the others had fixed amounts: 10,000, 20,000, or 30,000 StarCoins. Opening all the chests and StarCoin items, Chen Shen's account balance instantly increased by 2 million StarCoins.

This number surprised him. While he knew System 757 would be a "money-giving system," he hadn't expected it to be so generous!

After the surprise, Chen Shen studied the probability of the StarCoin chests. His luck was usually bad, affecting the outcome of opening chests, but when he opened over a dozen beginner and intermediate StarCoin chests, he noticed that his bad luck seemed to disappear. All the chests yielded the maximum amount!

The system's StarCoin chests came in various colors, with the five-color chests offering the highest amount but lower chances of getting the maximum. Given Chen Shen's usual bad luck, it would be better to save chests and open them all at once.

After clearing the tasks, Chen Shen felt tired. Although the system's time flow differed, his energy consumption was the same as in the real world. Even though only a short time had passed in reality, Chen Shen had been online for half a day and was exhausted.

System 757's rest space would unlock once it reached Level 1. Currently, Chen Shen's contribution experience was 10,000, and his StarBroadcast account was Level 5. Another 10 levels would be enough to upgrade 757 to Level 1. However, upgrading 10 levels required 2.5 million experience points—a huge jump!

Chen Shen didn't have enough StarCoins to reach Level 15, and even if he did, he couldn't just upgrade. 757 explained that to level up quickly, he needed to wait for random or special tasks, which rewarded massive amounts of StarCoins.

Around 8 PM, Chen Wan returned home and found her brother sleeping instead of chatting with clients. Not wanting to disturb him, she washed up and went to bed.

Chen Shen slept deeply and barely woke up in time for work the next day. By the time he got up, his sister had already eaten breakfast and gone to school.

Rushing to work, Chen Shen spent the whole day busy and only logged into the system briefly during lunch. Returning home late, he found Chen Wan doing homework without eating.

"Want anything for dinner? How about pineapple fried rice? I won't make it too sweet and add more carrots, which you love." Chen Shen washed his hands and entered the kitchen.

Chen Wan smiled, watching her brother's back. Though she knew she was adopted, she felt loved and cherished by her parents and brother. Her brother cared for her like a precious gem, and despite her illness, she felt fortunate.

After dinner, Chen Shen cleaned the house and washed their clothes. Finally, he logged into the system.

"Host, analyzing your day, I suggest hiring a 'housekeeper' to help manage your life. Otherwise, it may affect your condition; you're too tired," said the system.

Chen Shen nodded. "I understand, but I don't like having strangers at home." After his parents' death, he never let outsiders enter, primarily to protect his sister.

"Host, you misunderstood. I meant a housekeeper robot. Although I haven't upgraded yet and can't access the system store, StarBroadcast has a trading section where you can buy basic housekeeper robots for less than 100 StarCoins."
