My gaze locked onto the ancient tome, and a chilling sensation washed over me when I stumbled upon an illustration resembling myself within its aged pages.
My mouth hung open, and my heart raced within my chest, rendering me unable to summon the courage to turn to the next page, as the text beneath my name filled me with an overwhelming sense of dread.
To be mated to a reverse harem of Ancient Werewolf warriors!!!!!
And the part that freaked me out the most was that my name was also written above with blood as the ink.
And the above statement was written in blood as its ink.
Incredibly, I grappled with the impossible reality that a book dating back over a thousand years contained both a detailed image of me and my name boldly inscribed on its pages.
Uncertain and at a loss for words, I closed the ominous book in sheer terror. My footsteps heavy with dread, I made my way back to the house, clutching my pounding heart.
The disturbing revelation continued to haunt my thoughts, casting a pall of uncertainty over the prospect of enjoying the remainder of my stay in this place.
As I got back home, I threw my backpack that contained the ancient prophecy book on the bed, horrified at laying my eyes on it again.
I wanted to go through the book then but fear wouldn't let me so I decided to abandon it till the next day.
I ran a quick shower, grabbed a quick bite, and laid back in the bed to rest but sleep eluded me.
Every minute, my mind went re-tracing back to the book but each time I tried to get it, it felt like something was holding me back.
Now this frustrated me!!!
No sleep, no rest, and yet no peace of mind.
Soon, the light rays from the window shined brightly and I wondered when the sun began shining at midnight.
The inquisitive me immediately stood up from the bed and opened the window only to behold the wonders of the moon.
The moon was shining brightly in its prime and it looked so beautiful but the moment I opened the window, I began hearing eerie sounds that sounded like growls and bones crackling.
Fear enveloped me and I shut the window tightly but then the growls and sound of bones breaking wouldn't leave my ears.
Coming to this place was a mistake after all!!
The growls and screams got louder and I found myself screaming out in frustration as well.
Just then, the growl sounded so close like whatever it was...... Was at my door and I immediately put on my lamp to light the room up.
I summoned up courage and opened the door but the minute I was outside, I couldn't see anything that looked strange but the minute I turned to walk back inside, I felt a shadow run past me and I swerved immediately.
If I define this place as creepy or freaky.....then I need to look for higher words to increase my vocabulary because this place... particularly on this night sent chills down my spine.
And the worst part of this was that the library was situated inside a forest and that's where I lived too so that explains why I hadn't run out to another person's house.
If only I had taken fighting classes seriously then maybe I would have had the courage to sleep, not bothering if danger was lurking by as I had the ability to protect myself.
But I knew myself really well, I would probably pick up a hairbrush if I faced the slightest show of danger.
I glanced around nervously, my skin covered in goosebumps, and desperately hoped this was just a bad dream.
Retreating inside briefly, I couldn't ignore the growl, now unmistakably real. Armed with a lit lamp, I cautiously stepped outside once more.
The darkness terrified me but this sound made me feel like I would be dead before I even thought of waking up.
I decided to take a little stroll or detour around my house to make sure my surroundings were protected enough but I found nothing.
I know you might be wondering who in the world takes a detour around their house at midnight, no one but certainly a 20-year-old frightened female student.
I decided to follow the sound of the growl as I was in my nighties and I walked till I got to something that looked like a lake.
No, scratch that. It didn't look like a lake, it was a lake but then my eyes caught sight of a man standing on top of the valley hill.
He was gazing at the moon like he was drawing energy from it.
Dear heavens, please save my soul as I couldn't but stare at his bare broad chest.
It's sinful to be this hot!
And then that sharp chiseled jaw, pink lips that were damn alluring as f**k.
He should be around '6"7 tall with his biceps and abs.
I'm sure he got more than his fair share of women because his eyes that glistened with a kind of spark in them would definitely turn any woman on.
Oh god, I'm getting wet!
I didn't say that!
But what would such a glorious handsome young man who emitted defiant vibes be doing out in the open by this time of the night?
I wanted to call out to him but then I noticed his eyes had changed color.
His eyes were radiating green rays as he gritted his teeth and before I could process any other thing that was happening... The worst thing I could ever think of happening here occurred.
I heard his bones cracking like he was shifting into another form and then, the once handsome human young man turned into an animal.
My eyes popped open and my jaws dropped open in shock as he howled loudly, staring at the moon intently.
What?
What?
That man is an animal?
