The lights of the city that usually gave her so much peace and joy now seemed to be mocking her, lighting up her vulnerability at the mercy of the killer she had spent so long hiding from. Despite her determination to remain bold and calm, her heart kept thudding heavily, and every glance from Luca made her flinch. She hated how calm he was… how comfortable he seemed, especially now that everything seemed to be working according to his plan.
