Although i was very grateful for all these men were doing for us... i couldnt help but wonder why. Why did Luka's and my mom send us so far away from where we are from. This was puzzling to me. As we said our goodbyes to Spencer, Tanner and Steven, I watched as Luka slowly shut the door behind them. He then turned to face me with the weirdest grin. Just then, everything that happened in the last 24ish hours came back to me and hit me like a bag of bricks. I collapsed to the floor and felt ill. To my surprise, Luka was there in a flash and caught me before i hit the ground. "Whoa there, are you alright Shelbee?" He said. I blinked a few times and tried to make sense of everything that has happened. I looked into his eyes and asked him, " Do you know why this is happening to us? Why are we on some completely foreign territory? Why are our mothers trying to protect us so hard from my father?"

As I looked down at this beautiful woman in my arms and took in the questions she was asking me, i had come to see the Shelbee knew nothing of who she really was. I suppose if she is as innocent as I believe her to be then I can understand why she has absolutely no clue. I had to look away. I know my mom told me to try and keep everything from her for as long as possible until she was ready but i knew i couldnt lie to my mate. "Shelbee," I said, "I honestly was hoping you wouldnt have asked me this for quite some time, but i refuse to lie to you. You see, years ago, there was a coven of witches. Your father and mother tried for many years to conceive, but had no luck. When push came to shove, your father became desperate, for he needed someone to carry on his blood line. With good reason, i might add, because your father is a hybrid like the men you saw earlier. But he isnt your typical hybrid. He is a very special hybrid. He is half wolf, a fourth vampire, and a fourth phoenix. Your father asked the witches for help but what your father didnt know was the witches knew of your father's secret and they added a hint of witch to your bloodline." " What in the hell is a phoenix?" She then asked. " A phoenix is a living being, but a powerful one. They have the ability to resurrect themselves, have telekinesis abilities, they can manipulate matter, and they can use their resurrection abilities to bring someone back to life." She stared at me blankly and I had hoped she would take this news alright... "Our mothers sent us here because well... we are part of a legacy that the moon goddess has set in stone for us. Because, in due time, we will have children of our own. They will be the most powerful of beings to ever walk the earth because I am also a hybrid, I am half wolf, half phoenix. When the time comes for us to mate, we will have children that are vampire, wolf, witch, and phoenix. Unfortunately, when your father asked the witches for help he told them he didnt care what the price may be, he just wishes to have a child. The witches, being smart, had cursed your father. They said that if you were to be mated to even a half blood phoenix, they would kill him. A life for a grand life they said..." Shelbee then stood up and briskly walked to the small bedroom off of the kitchen and slammed the door.
