I ran home as fast as I could. I could not get how beautiful Shelbee is out of my head, and the sparks that flew any time I touched her. I wish I could have claimed her. But it seems as though she knows nothing of our fathers' past. If my grandfather would have left well enough alone all of this would be fine. I could be with Shelbee. I needed to get home to tell my mom of the news. She told me when I was younger of everything that had happened between Trenton and my father. She was and still is best friends with Chelsea. They have been keeping up with everything to make damn sure I get to be mates with her. I will get to make her mine, and share a life with her. But we have so much work to push through. My father isnt the problem. It is only Trenton. He believes my father cheated and left pitty on him for losing and that is why he stepped down to "allow" him to be the alpha of the Dark Star Pack. But in reality my father was giving him exactly what he deserved after our family cheated.
I ran into the front door and yelled for mom. She came running from the direction of he garden and as soon as she saw me a smile erupted across her face. "Mom," I said, "I ran into Shelbee, down by the Sun Spark Lake, man is that place beautiful.... But not as beautiful as her. I cannot even remember the last time I saw her but she remembered who I was! And you were right! She is my mate!" There then was a long pause as she waited for me to continue. "But mom..... what can I do to make sure we can be together? I dont want to lose out on this opportunity of finding my true mate. Any other normal mates that meet would have laid claim to one another but we decided to hold off until we each spoke with our mothers."
"Luka," no matter what you may have to do, Lydia and I know what is coming, and so does your father. He is hoping this will help our packs make amends. And do not be afraid to mark her dear but be sure she agrees to it, if she is anything like her mother she will understand why you must. If you dont mark her and Trenton finds out, he will probably find some other wolf to lay his claim to her, just to make dang sure our packs cannot grow together. Just tread lightly son. I love you my dear boy and I know you will make a wonderful alpha for the Dark Star Pack, we just need Trenton to see that, and in due time he will.
"Thank you mother," I said as I gathered her up in a giant hug, "I love you too and thank you for the advise. We plan to meet again tomorrow in the morning at the Sun Spark Lake again."
Mother then smiled again and said, "Oh I forgot to mention, we are going to her birthday party, Lydia has invited us to come. Trenton is gone for the next week on business and will not be around be ready to leave at 6." And with that my mother went back to tending her garden.
A wave a relief rushed through me.... maybe tonight I can talk her into allowing me to claim her.
