Chapter 18: Terrifying Thoughts

After rambling on for the entire afternoon, just before the end of the school day, the female lecturer finally taught everyone the Aqua Shield spell. Although it might sound like magic at first, in reality, Aqua Shield falls into the category of water manipulation, another application of Water Sphere.

In summary, wrapping oneself in a water sphere is equivalent to activating the Aqua Shield. The principle is simple, but whether it can be successfully executed depends on everyone's control over the flow of water.

Without a doubt, Adrian was the first in the class to activate the Aqua Shield. When it comes to controlling water flow, Adrian was second to none. No one in the class could claim to be better. The gap was simply too wide.

However, Adrian didn't follow the teacher's method and steps to create the Aqua Shield. According to the teacher, erecting the shield is akin to blowing a soap bubble. But Adrian didn't think that was a good idea because soap bubbles are easily popped.

After some modification, Adrian first created a nine-meter-long stream of water. He then manipulated this stream to rapidly coil around his body, forming the Aqua Shield. Within the shield, you could clearly see the trajectory of the flowing water.

In fact, Adrian used the water stream to envelop himself and then spread it out, connecting it to form a dense Aqua Shield. It had a fast activation speed and looked beautiful. Unlike the water spheres of others, Adrian's shield had a coiled water stream acting as reinforcement, giving the shield a skeletal structure and making it even more resilient.

After teaching the Aqua Shield spell, it was already past school hours. At this point, the apprentices had finally learned the three fundamental water spells—offensive, defensive, and restorative. Only the auxiliary Earth spell, Quagmire, remained. However, Quagmire, also known as Whirlpool or Vortex, was considered a more advanced basic spell. For the time being, they were not yet capable of learning it.

Without speaking a word along the way, Adrian returned home. After having a simple dinner, he began his training. It wasn't until he was about to sleep that Adrian finally completed his predetermined plan—casting the Rejuvenation spell 30 times in a row!

"Pat... pat... pat..." After receiving a large amount of rejuvenation, the little figure in pale blue started flapping its wings vigorously, as if trying to fly. However, its wings were too small and delicate, and its body was too chubby and fat. It was simply impossible for it to take flight.

Gently caressing the little creature, despite being only a few days old, it had already grown stronger. Though it couldn't fly yet, it no longer wobbled when walking.

Feeling Adrian's affectionate touch, the little creature stopped its efforts and closed its eyes blissfully. Its small head kept rubbing against Adrian's palm, occasionally extending its pink tongue to lick Adrian's palm, creating a tickling sensation that made the weary Adrian couldn't help but laugh.

After playing with the little creature for a while, Adrian didn't continue and had to rest. He didn't have time to play, but before entering the state of sleep, he had a habit of contemplating certain matters.

In today's class, although Adrian didn't say a word from start to finish, it didn't mean he had no doubts. Relying on his intuition and his understanding of water flow, Adrian stubbornly believed that spells related to water should not be so monotonous and weak.

The so-called water magic is simply a way to control water using unique methods. In this world, water is everywhere, and even the human body itself is inseparable from water. In fact, 70% of the human body is composed of water!

A cold and eerie spark flashed through Adrian's mind, like a shooting star. But this time, Adrian keenly caught that spark of inspiration!

With fear in his eyes, Adrian broke out in a cold sweat because of his horrifying inspiration. If... if this inspiration could really be realized, it would be truly terrifying!

In fact, whether it's humans or magical creatures, although their body structures may be different, there is one thing in common: most of their bodies are composed of water!

Adrian's inspiration was, since he could control water in nature, then... could he control the water within human bodies and the bodies of magical creatures?

It is well known that besides cellular fluids, the water content within the human or magical creature bodies is mainly blood. Once he controls these fluids, what would be the consequences?

Looking at the chubby little creature, Adrian was well aware that although its body was not pure water, at least 80% of it was composed of water. With his thoughts racing, Adrian trembled as he reached out his hands, hovering over the body of the little creature.

Gently closing his eyes, Adrian made a concentrated effort to feel the water flow within the little creature's body. In an instant, Adrian felt the rushing water coursing through the creature's body. Although the water was mixed with impurities, dirty or not, it was still water after all!

Nervously swallowing his saliva, Adrian keenly caught one of the numerous water streams and instantly changed its direction, making it flow according to his control.

"Squeak!" With the change in the water flow, the slumbering little creature let out a startled cry, abruptly opening its eyes. At the same time, its body struggled vigorously, causing Adrian to lose control over that particular water stream in an instant!

Although this attempt at control had failed, Adrian was not the least bit disappointed. On the contrary, he was excited to the point of ecstasy. He knew that his idea was still correct. As long as it was water, he could manipulate it, whether it was water from nature or the water that constituted living beings.

However, Adrian's idea hadn't been fully realized. Although he could control those water streams, he had to be in very close proximity. Moreover, the idea of making all the blood in an enemy's body spurt out seemed unrealistic. The resilient walls of blood vessels were not so easily breached!

To confirm his speculation, Adrian once again reached out his hands and enveloped the little creature. This time, Adrian was not as gentle as before. He directly targeted all the water streams within the creature's body and forcefully took control.

"Squeak squeak!" Seeing its own body flying up, the little creature excitedly let out a shriek. It flapped its wings frantically, cooperating with Adrian's manipulation. Under Adrian's control, the tiny body of the creature, like a ragged doll, quickly spun around him.

"Well, well..." Watching the little creature zooming around him at lightning speed, Adrian wryly smiled. It seemed that the walls of blood vessels couldn't be breached by liquid blood. Even in this state, with the water streams inside the creature's body carrying it all around, the blood vessel walls remained as resilient as ever. It was still a long way from rupturing.

"Hmm..." Nodding with certainty, Adrian knew that it would be impossible to make the opponent's blood spurt out under normal circumstances. However, if the opponent had a wound on their body, it would be a different story.

Moreover, this kind of attack didn't fall under magical or physical attacks. It was simply controlling the water flow within one's body. How could one defend against it? The answer was quite obvious—ignore all defenses!
