The Divine Spear of Fiery Heavens Part 1

"R-right away, Your Grace!" The sheer menace of the duke's bloodstained face and furious howling sent Pierre dashing over to Gustave's nearby bedchamber. Enshrined almost reverently on a pedestal at the back of the room was a pulsating red spear. That was the true form of Gustave's legendary so-called. The Divine Spear of Fiery Heavens. For ten long years, Gustave had spent five hours each day chanting incantations before a raging flame in order to complete his war magic. It was his ultimate trump card. Gustave lifted the spear, pedestal, and all. The weapon was formed from a convergence of bound, materialized blaze spirits, so it was hot as burning iron. For a normal person, touching it was out of the question. Making sure to hold it by the pedestal, the servant returned to his lord. Finally, he knelt before Gustave, who was waiting by the gold statue. "Your Grace, If I…" "Out of the way!" Gustave didn't hesitate for a moment before grabbing the spear with his bare hands and kicking Pierre aside. The little man let out a groan of anguish as the Duke shoved past him and made for the palace's highest spire. 'I was an i***t for trusting the likes of Brachride and Leonhard! Worthless incompetents, a lot of them! They're toxic parasites leeching off of the kingdom nothing more…!' Gustave made his way up the spire's spiral staircase, paying no heed to the heat searing his flesh down to the bone. Eventually, the man reached the tower's apex. Standing before a large golden bell, the duke glared off into the southern sky. He was staring at the land past the horizon, Gustave was certain something was squirming just beyond his view. Vermin, running rampant in His Majesty's territory, encroaching on Eighbury and devouring it all! It was unacceptable. Utterly unforgivable. There was only one natural recourse in the Duke's mind. 'Now is the time to unleash my fury...my treasured weapon...The Divine Spear of Fiery Heavens. "HRAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!" The moment Gustave unleashed the seal on his spear-shaped war magic, he used every ounce of his spiritual energy to bind the wind spirits dwelling in the atmosphere. From the spirits, a green aura began welling up. Gustave's curse bound them, imbuing the spear with the power of flight. Such was the energy needed to cross seas and mountains, piercing through clouds on its journey to strike down its master's hideous enemies. With the deadly magic prepared…" "THEY WILL LEARN JUST HOW HOT MY WRAITH BURNS!!!!" Elm Gustave hurled the spear into the southern skies toward Eighbury. … As the snow laid thick atop the ground, a thunderous gust of wind cleaved through the cloudy night. Minister of Food and Agriculture, Alwin heard a strange voice call to him in a dream. "Please, wake up…" Jade-green flecks of light floated up through the darkness of his unconscious mind, drifting in a snowflake-like pattern. That was where the sound originated. It was the voice of a woman. The noise wasn't hitting his eardrums but rather echoing directly in his brain. "A crisis...befalls the United National Socialist Party...A crisis...imminent danger…" "The UNSP...in danger…" The voice continued. "They require your power...please you have to guide them…" It was pleading to him. "?!" Quite suddenly, Alwin sprang up from the world of dreams. His breath was ragged. He placed a hand on his chest. "What the hell was that just now?" The minister didn't know. He couldn't even begin to comprehend it. Yet, curiously, Alwin was filled with certainty. Something terrible was about to happen at the party. Knowing that, Alwin hurriedly rose to his feet and warns Volksfuhrer about the impending danger. … Meanwhile...in the governmental office of the mansion, Ernest was in the meeting with his ministers about the new development...introducing yet another technology to further safeguard the UNSP interest and ideals. Just as before they could start, a blaring sound interrupted them, the sound coming from Ernest's drawer. Everyone in the office looked at him with a frown expression. Ernest trembled a bit, a bead of sweat trickled, he knew what that alarm meant. He pulled out his drawer and grabbed a table which is the source of the sound. "Sir...Ernest? What is that?" Sophia asked. The others grew curious about what he's holding, especially Guilhem as it was his first time seeing, was it the new technology he'll introduce to him? Ernest ignored Sophia's query as he focused his attention on the notification bar of the table. [Emergency notification: Altitude, twenty thousand feet. Distance, 180 kilometers. A projectile has been located approaching Eighbury from the north-northwest.] "It has begun…" The Volksfuhrer, Ernest said to his ministers. "What do you mean by that Volksfuhrer?" Sophia asked, the others were also keen on knowing his troubles. "This device allows me to check the airspace of Eighbury, it acts as an early warning system. Based on this device, it's a spear-shaped projectile." He continued sharing a report, "Based on its current trajectory and bearing, we've got a point of origin...It came from...Gustave domain!" "Gustave's domain?!" Everyone was shocked after hearing the news, they rose as they fell into panic. "Wait...does that mean he used it?!" "Are we going to die…?!" "Guys...calm down…" Ernest said but his words didn't reach their ears as their panic grows on. "Guys...settle down…" He tried again but to no avail. As the governmental office fell into a chaotic situation, Ernest asserted his control by smashing the table with both of his hands. "I SAID SHUT UP!!!!" The room suddenly turned into silence as they heard Ernest bellowed. An apparent rage surfaced. All kinds of facial expressions distorted his elegant face, frozen at disappointment. "You are supposed to be my minister and yet you didn't act like one? Our state is in crisis and yet what you showed me is a pathetic foolish face filled with fear. Shame to all of you…" The ministers returned to their seats as his words pierced their very souls. This was the second time they've seen Ernest this angry. But Ernest knew that there's no time to chide them. So he continued with the briefing. "Now that I've told you the details we can deduce that this is not an ordinary spear. It came from Duke Gustave meaning that the bogey that is heading towards our city is the treasured spear. I'll do whatever it takes to shoot it down." Ernest declared. "If I may be candid Volksfuhrer but how can we shoot something flying thousands of feet above us? Our assault rifles and heavy machine gun won't reach that altitude." Nicholas asked. The others nodded along with his query. But Ernest gave them a straight answer. "We are not going to intercept it with machine guns or assault rifles, we are intercepting it with something new." From the north and south part of the city... a MIM-104 Patriot, a surface-to-air missile system tracked the bogey automatically thanks to Ernest's tablet. With a simple push of the button, the missile tubes opened as they made way for the four patriot missiles. Smoke burst from the missile pod as four missiles blasted off into the snowy sky. Each one hurtled toward the crimson shooting star that had just penetrated the cloud line over the southern region. Flowers of red flame blossomed in the cold winter sky. Four massive blossoms. A moment later, the sounds of the explosion rocked the city. Thanks to the accuracy of the Patriot guidance, each missile had struck true. However...The tablet was monitoring the situation via radar, so he noticed the abnormality before all the eyesight-reliant humans. Despite how heavily it had just bombed, the projectile was undamaged. "Huwhat…?! No effect? How could this be possible?" Ernest muttered under his breath, his ministers noticed his uneasiness by just looking at him, making them worried. "Why…the whole barrage...had no effect?" "Volksfuhrer…" Someone suddenly entered the governmental office. It was Alwin. "Alwin...what's the matter?" Panting heavily, he briefed Ernest about his strange dreams as quickly as he could. After hearing his words, Ernest got the answer to his worries. He had told him that the spear was protected by some kind of magic. But that spear took a hit by four modern missiles without a scratch, in that case, shooting it down is going to be impossible. But then...Ernest emitted a calm aura. If he shows weakness to his subject, then it'll weaken the bond he created with them. Ernest calmed and thought of it logically, cool and collected. He moved his hands and calculated something. The initial trajectory of the bogey that was hurtling towards the city of Eighbury changed...It shifted to the high-end residential district in the southwest. He figured it out. If he can't shoot it down, he can just push it away. He still has patriot missiles left installed in the northern part of the city. Without hesitation, he used it, and expectedly, the spear continued despite the barrage of missiles. But it serves its purpose. The spear trajectory shifted again. Ernest clicked his tongue. The divine spear posed a significant threat to them. He'd spent quite a bit of his free time over the past month researching it. From how the spear devoured the Elba in flames and accounting for the consistencies he heard from the stories about the spear, he deduced that the spear is as similar as an incendiary bomb. As long as they avoid a direct hit from it, it's not that big of a threat. However...its defensive capabilities are surely powerful but there's still something he can pull up from his sleeves. Activating Close-in Weapon System. The distance of the spear, 50 kilometers and closing, the Phalanx CIWS and the Kashtan CIWS swiveled in their turret as it detected the bogey in the sky. Moments later. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTT!!!! With each bullet armed with armor-piercing tungsten penetrator rounds with discarding sabots, it serves its role as an anti-air weapon system. It created an arch of streaming red light in the skies along with continuous and incessant roars that broke the night sky. It was astoundingly powerful as its noises reached every inch of the city. 'Those two are a powerful close-in weapon system from Earth...Have a taste of it!' He internally hollered at the spear… "Huwhat?!" Ernest couldn't believe what he was seeing on his tablet. It was ineffective! Even the two modern CIWS were no match for the spear's defensive capabilities. This world is truly a big place. "This is bad…" Ernest indirectly declared his loss of defending the city. The spear was about to make an impact. "GET DOWN!!!" The ministers in his room reacted to Ernest's bellow faster than their minds did. They threw themselves to the ground. The next moment, a red flash of light engulfed the city.
